Chrishell Stause from Selling Sunset revealed in her new book, Under Construction, the reason why she and Dancing With The Stars pro-dancer Keo Motsepe broke up. Chrishell and Keo started dating in late 2020 after she started competing on DWTS. The news of their relationship broke a couple of months after Chrishell and accused of having an affair with Gleb Savchenko, her dancing partner. Chrishell and Keo seemed quite serious for a while as they even spent Christmas together with her family.
After three months of dating, Chrishell revealed that the two had gone their separate ways. Despite wanting to keep the breakup drama-free, Chrishell had to speak out when Keo was trying to play the victim in their split. Keo claimed he wanted to make their relationship last, especially since his mother had recently passed away. This made Chrishell furious, as she was upset for him bringing his mother into this, even calling him a liar.
In Chrishell's new book, Under Construction, she revealed she cut things off with Keo when he allegedly started to show signs of similar behavior to her ex-husband, Justin Hartley. In an excerpt obtained by E! News, the realtor revealed that she missed similar red flags in Keo that she did with Justin. "I did fall for another love bomber not long after my divorce, and we were quickly heading toward real commitment," she wrote in her memoir. Chrishell went on to describe Keo as a tall guy who was positive and generous in the beginning. However, she claims their relationship went downhill when their "honeymoon phase" came to an end. Instead of "making excuses for his behavior," Chrishell, who introduced Keo to her family, decided to push "past the smoke and mirrors" and saw the dancer for who he truly was.
Chrishell, who introduced Keo to her family, recalled that as soon as she realized how "deep his apparent lies went," she decided to end the relationship before it got any more serious. She explained that she didn't want to open up the same wounds she felt after her last relationship ended. If it weren't for her marriage to Justin, Chrishell never would have seen the red flags with Keo. Despite the hardships she went through, Chrishell saw her past mistakes as lessons learned. "While it hurt, I was able to put it all behind me quickly," the reality star wrote. "Before him, after a breakup, I usually couldn’t eat or sleep, but this time was much different [...] I felt strong knowing that I’d done the right thing for me." Instead of feeling bad for herself, Chrishell felt "empowered" after the split. A few months after her breakup with Keo, Chrishell confirmed her romance with Jason Oppenheim from Selling Sunset. The pair dated for five months before ending their relationship in December 2021.
Chrishell was able to see the red flags in her relationship with Keo and got out as soon as she knew it was no longer healthy for her. The Selling Sunset star didn't want to repeat history and was glad she saw the signs early on in the romance.
