It was reportedly Chrishell Stause's desire to have kids that led to her recent breakup with Selling Sunset co-star Jason Oppenheim. Jason wasn't on the same page when it came to starting a family so soon. As the owner of The Oppenheim Group, Jason is busy running his real estate and looking to expand in Orange County. Despite how well Jason and Chrishell were getting along, there was one area where they couldn't see eye to eye.
Last week Chrishell and Jason confirmed speculation by announcing their breakup. They each posted statements to their page with Jason admitting what led to their split. It was their differences over starting a family that resulted in the two realtors parting ways. Jason was the second romance Chrishell entered into following her divorce from This is Us star, Justin Hartley. But after months of appearing inseparable, Jason is the second breakup for Chrishell post her finalized divorce.
Amid the breakup, insiders say Chrishell and Jason's split "was a long time coming" considering their differences. "Chrishell wants to have kids much sooner than Jason does,” a source told ET. “She is really interested in starting a family and that's not something that is on Jason's mind right now." When it came to ending the relationship, Chrishell "felt like she had to get serious with herself and break her own heart by ending her relationship with Jason because having kids is a main priority for her," the source explained. At 40 years old, Chrishell "doesn't want to wait or be on Jason's timeline," the insider added.
Chrishell hinted at that when posting her statement about their split. "Men have the luxury of time that women don't and that's just the way it goes," Chrishell shared with her followers. Jason credited Chrishell with being the best girlfriend he's ever had. Chrishell said Jason was and still is her best friend. Maybe the two will be able to come back together in the future. But that's only if Jason has a change of heart about starting a family. His twin brother Brett Oppenheim is also going through a breakup after splitting from his girlfriend Tina Louise.
Chrishell is the second Oppenheim Group agent that fans know of Jason dating. He and Mary Fitzgerald have been open about their romantic history that included a relationship years before the show started. But they opted to remain best friends. Now it looks like Chrishell is ironically taking on the same type of relationship with Jason as Mary has. While she could potentially meet someone else and move on without Jason, they still work together and star on Selling Sunset. With all the time they spend together, it'll be hard to let go of their romantic feelings for each other.
