Marcus Epps' Past Political Scandals
While the Epps family may currently reside in Miami, Florida, Marcus was once the City Councilman of Euclid, Ohio, which is located near Cleveland. During his time as Ohio City Councilman, Cleveland 19 News reported that Marcus was allegedly connected to an "illegal establishment" that operated as a "known after hours club." Seeking Sister Wife's Marcus would face more scandal in 2020 when tragedy struck the club; one person was killed, and three people were shot while Marcus was hosting a birthday event for his wife, Taryn. Later, a video surfaced showing Marcus at the scene of the crime, carrying one of the victims out of the club, which had many people raising their eyebrows in suspicion. Cleveland 19 News reported again that the police executed a search warrant of the reality star's home in 2021; however, in an interview with the news station, Marcus called the situation a "political prosecution by the city of Euclid" and denied any involvement in the shooting.
Infidelity Within The Epps Family
Marcus and Taryn had been married as a monogamous couple for a decade before opening up their relationship to polygamy. The reality stars’ reason for embracing plural marriage made Seeking Sister Wife fans, who want another season, skeptical of Marcus and his true motivation for wanting the lifestyle. Taryn discovered that Marcus had been unfaithful to her during their time together and broke up with him shortly after the discovery. After a year of separation, the couple reunited with the addition of Marcus’ new fiancé, India. This upset and confused both women, but after some hardships and a lot of convincing, Taryn and India began to understand each other and grew to appreciate their unique relationship. Marcus Epps' Domestic Violence Allegations
On top of the political scandals, Marcus, who embraces Seeking Sister Wife's plural marriage, has also faced domestic violence allegations, which has been an unfortunate trend for some Seeking Sister Wife stars, specifically the Snowden family, who faced numerous abuse allegations in the past year. Marcus was arrested and charged with misdemeanor domestic violence on October 7, 2007, according to court records via TV Shows Ace. Marcus faced two charges: 1st-degree misdemeanor domestic violence and domestic violence: menacing, which is a 4th-degree misdemeanor. Marcus would eventually cut a deal and plead no contest to a lesser charge of disorderly conduct, with the two domestic violence charges being dismissed. However, despite receiving fewer charges for the incident, Seeking Sister Wife fans continue to vocalize their concerns for his wives, Taryn and India, and potential sister wives that the family hopes to bring in.
