Dimitri and Ashley Snowden have been on the hunt for a sister wife for a long time, and their journey has been well documented on the controversial show Seeking Sister Wife. While fans may have mixed reactions to the Snowden family, this has not deterred them in their quest to find the perfect match for their family and to create the life they have envisioned for themselves. In season 3 of the show, fans saw the couple connect with South African mother-of-two Christeline Peterson. But their happily ever after did not last long, as Christeline and Dimitri have now divorced.
Viewers of the show have been privy to Dimitri and Ashley’s journey for the past few seasons of Seeking Sister Wife. In season one, they found a match in Vanessa Cobbs, and she married into the relationship after a few months. Both Ashely and Dimitri hoped this would be the final piece in their puzzle, but they were mistaken. Vanessa ended up leaving the family and moving back home. The same thing happened with Taylor, whom fans were introduced to in season three. Taylor also ended up leaving the Snowden’s to move back home. Christeline, on the other hand, stuck around and showed the Snowden’s she was committed to the relationship.
Dimitri proposed to Christeline, and the couple got married to allow Christeline to stay in America with her children. Dimitri and Ashley have never been married, so, unlike the Merrifields, Dimitri did not have to divorce Ashley to marry Christeline. Christeline and Dimitri were married in July 2020, but it did not take long for the marriage to take a turn. According to People, by January 2021, their separation was official and Dimitri cited irreconcilable differences as the cause for their split. However, Christeline has said otherwise.
The South African beauty accused Dimitri of domestic violence. She went to the court to ask for a restraining order against the Snowdens, as she said she endured abuse numerous times. However, she was only granted a temporary restraining order against Dimitri. Dimitri petitioned for spousal support to not be given to Christeline and claimed she has abandoned the marriage and he no longer knows where she is. However, Christeline is still in America. Ex-sister wife Vanessa has openly supported Christeline's fight against the Snowdens on social media.
The restraining order has since been dissolved and neither party has commented on the situation. However, Ashley posted a cryptic Instagram post alluding to the fact that the whole story has not yet been told. Christeline and the Snowden’s may be under contract with the Seeking Sister Wife production team to not comment on the state of their relationship. Hopefully, all will be revealed when the reunion comes around.
