What happens in the season 1 finale of Apple's original series See? Jason Momoa first rose to fame playing Ronon Dex on Stargate: Atlantis, and over the years he's scored some other iconic parts, including Khal Drogo on Game Of Thrones. He's currently playing Arthur Curry / Aquaman in the DCEU, with the character slated to return for Aquaman 2 in late 2022. In 2019 Momoa led an impressive ensemble cast in Apple TV+'s See, which is set in a post-apocalyptic world where a plague has robbed mankind of sight.

In See, Momoa plays Baba Voss, the leader of the Alkenny tribe who marries Hera Hilmar's Maghra, who was impregnated by a near-mystical figure named Jerlamarel (Joshua Henry). Jerlamarel can see, and he later asks Voss to raise and keep his twin children Kofun and Haniwa safe until they're old enough to seek him out. Maghra is also the sister of Sylvia Hoeks' Queen Kane, who believes sight is a sin and sends her Witchfinder army to seek out the twins and Jerlamarel.

By the time See season 1's finale comes around, the twins have found Jerlamarel's camp after years of searching. He and his other sighted children have settled into a former prison, where he shows them various conveniences like a generator, a library and even an armory. Neither Voss nor Alkenny shamen Paris (Alfre Woodard) was allowed to follow, however, while Kofun (Archie Madekwe) is turned off by Jerlamarel's claims to Godhood because he can see and who intends to rebuild the world for the sighted. Haniwa (Nesta Cooper), on the other hand, wants to believe in their biological father's intentions.

Meanwhile, Queen Kane is being held captive by Tamacti Jun (Christian Camargo), the Witchfinder General of her army after she admitted to flooding a village to save herself in a previous episode. The See finale finds Jun trying to convince Maghra of presenting Queen Kane with the option of either abdicating the throne to her or dying. Kane refuses but later seems ready to abdicate when Jun is stabbed by Boots (Franz Drameh) - another of Jerlamarel's sighted children - while Kane later delivers the killer blow. Kane convinces Maghra to work together with her, and they address the Witchfinder army as joint rulers - which will surely make for a rocky partnership.

The bulk of the action on the See finale focuses on the Jerlamarel storyline, with Kofun later overhearing a conversion between him and members of the Trivantian tribe - which is run by Voss' brother, General Edo. Jeralmarel betrays his own children, letting the tribe take Haniwa captive while imprisoning the furious Kofun. When the latter refuses to see his view of the situation, Jerlamarel's men take him outside to be executed. Voss arrives in time to save his son, and later has a vicious brawl with Jerlamarel in a library. The latter has a gun and is on the verge of winning when the lights go out, and Voss eventually gets him in a headlock and blinds the so-called prophet in revenge.

See season 1 ends on Kofun, Paris and Voss coming across a city, with Voss vowing to rescue Haniwa. Production on season 2 was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but it's known that Dave Bautista has joined the cast and is reportedly playing the brother of Jason Momoa's Voss.
