A new behind-the-scenes featurette for See season 2 shows off the sibling rivalry between stars Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista. The dystopian series debuted its first season in November 2019 on Apple TV+ to mixed acclaim but was renewed for a second season nonetheless. However, filming on season 2 was stalled due to the pandemic, eventually wrapping in March of this year, and is now slated to return on August 27.

See stars Jason Momoa as Baba Voss, the leader of a tribe of people in a future where a virus has wiped out the ability to see. Voss marries a woman who is pregnant by another man, an outlaw with the gift of sight, who is wanted by a rival kingdom who wants him and his offspring killed. Voss is forced to fight and protect his family as they are hunted down in this sprawling new post-apocalyptic civilization. The series was created and written by Steven Knight (Eastern Promises) and initially directed by Francis Lawrence.

See season 2 kicks off 30 days after the events of season 1 and Apple TV+ has released a new featurette that dives into the journey ahead. Season 2 welcomes Dave Bautista to the mix as the brother of Jason Momoa's Baba Voss. Bautista's General Edo Voss has been looking for Baba for a long time and wants revenge for Baba killing their father, while Baba is seeking his kidnapped daughter. The stakes are higher and the conflict elevated, especially with these two powerhouses going head to head. Take a look at the featurette below:

Momoa calls this second season the "best season" he's ever had and it's sure to bring fans deeper into the world of See. Momoa has a full plate, as usual, though, and is already working on the Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom for director James Wan and recently completed filming of the sci-fi fantasy film Slumberland for See director Francis Lawrence. Momoa's latest film, Sweet Girl, is currently streaming on Netflix.

While See hasn't gotten the critical raves that one might hope for, the show is no less intriguing as an original concept. Taking cues from other dystopian-set films, such as Mad Max, Snowpiercer, and Children of Men, See offers a unique take on the genre. With Momoa and Bautista going head-to-head in season 2, it could very well garner the attention it needs to continue into a third season, bringing in a new set of viewers that are ready to invest in this world. Either way, the casting gamble will be put to the test later this month when season 2 begins, but even if that doesn't pay off, both Momoa and Bautista are still game to team up for future projects.
