As League of Legends ventures deeper into its summer Ruination event, excited fans began looking for possible merchandise celebrating some of the story's central champions. That's where Secretlab, acclaimed creator of gaming chairs, getting ready to launch its new TITAN Evo 2022 gaming chair design, saw an opportunity. They formed a partnership with Riot Games, announcing July 23 the launch of the Secretlab League of Legends Ruination Collection.
The Secretlab League of Legends Ruination Collection is Secretlab's first collaboration for its brand new TITAN Evo 2022 series. The TITAN Evo 2022 is the culmination of $20 million and three years of research by Secretlab, working hard to ever-improve the quality of their chairs. It's available in three sizes, S, R and XL. While the TITAN Evo 2022 shares many traits with its predecessors, it improves and adds several features that are designed to improve user experience.
This is not Secretlab and Riot's first partnership, having created chairs for Worlds, K/DA and MSI. The Secretlab League of Legends Ruination Collection are all the TITAN Evo 2022 design, with three editions. League of Legends champions Viego, Miss Fortune and Pyke each boast their own unique skin. Secretlab sent Screen Rant a size R Miss Fortune TITAN Evo 2022 edition of the Secretlab League of Legends Ruination Collection. So far, it's been used while playing League of Legends (playing Miss Fortune, of course), Wild Rift, and for work, and has been a comfortable place to sit for both desktop and mobile experiences.
Secretlab League of Legends Ruination Collection Chair: A Comfortable Sit
The Secretlab TITAN Evo 2022 was designed with comfort and ergonomics in mind. All of the Secretlab League of Legends Ruination Collection TITAN chairs come equipped with a four way adaptable L-Adapt Lumbar System in the backrest. The seat itself is composed of a patent pending cold-cure foam, retaining medium firmness in a balance of support and comfort. The armrests are full-metal 4D pieces, connected to the base of the chair by a strong magnet.
The TITAN Evo 2022 boasts a shorter hydraulic system than prior models, allowing the base of the seat to work for a broader user base. The height and tilt lever positions have been positioned slightly differently to better allow adjustments while sitting in the chair. Those who enjoy sitting up straight, no tilt in the seat base, should be aware that, at least with Screen Rant's model, once the chair is tilted back, it's very difficult to get it upright again.
Ergonomic options for the Secretlab League of Legends Ruination Collection chair are numerous, and it may take some time fiddling with the controls before finding an ideal setting. The knob on the right side of the chair back can be twisted to increase or decrease lumbar support, while the left knob can raise or lower its positioning, and finding the perfect balance between the two is a rewarding endeavor.
The Secretlab chair is soft to the touch, made of a new hybrid leatherette material. According to Secretlab, the leatherette uses a 3D structure of fibers for strength and dexterity, then treated with a top layer of resin for an added sheen. Adding to Secretlab League of Legends Ruination Collection's smoothness is the upgraded XL PU casters, wheels that glide over hardfloor and carpet alike. The only surface the TITAN Evo 2022 struggled with was the padding from the box it came in, laid beneath the chair to act as a type of mat.
Secretlab offers an optional memory foam headrest, which attaches via magnet to the top of the headrest. While this does provide nice support while reclining in the Secretlab League of Legends Ruination Collection chair, it's not a necessary addition and, in some ways, detracts from Miss Fortune's chair aesthetic, a black blob against a dark red backdrop.
Secretlab League of Legends Ruination Collection Chair Aesthetic
Secretlab League of Legends Ruination Collection's artwork is designed to evoke the champion that inspired them. Secretlab provided a Miss Fortune design, and it is a beautiful tribute to the dual-pistol wielding bounty hunter. The front is a deep red, embossed in gold thread with Miss Fortune's crossed pistols Shock and Awe in full detail. The sides are grey on top and cream on the bottom, the two sections separated by yet more gold embroidery.
The back of the chair, meanwhile, is entirely dull grey leatherette. The only image is a simple wisp of smoke, trailing up from the bottom left corner, rising to form the rough shape of a heart in the center. It's reminiscent of leaving a trail of destruction in the bot lane, reminding players of the powers of Shock and Awe, as well as an iconic part of Miss Fortune's character art.
The seat of the chair is also dark grey leatherette, save two deep red stripes running along the edges, widening at the front corners and embroidered with gold thread in true Miss Fortune style. Additionally, each edge piece of the seat and backrest are stitched together with gold thread, adding to the aesthetic of League of Legends' pirate-inspired champion.
Secretlab League of Legends Ruination Collection Chair: Easy Assembly
As with previous Secretlab models, the Secretlab League of Legends Ruination Collection chair comes with a durable, poster-sized set of instructions. It lists all the contents of the package, and breaks down assembly in 15 simple steps. All the instructions are easy to understand and follow, complete with pictures and even a QR code to an assembly video for anyone struggling as to what to do next. The instructions also show owners how to use all of Secretlab League of Legends Ruination Collection's various features, and provides an after care booklet to help players keep their chair in top condition for as long as possible. Included in the package are a screwdriver and allen key that fit all of the screws, so those assembling have all the tools needed to carry out their task.
All told, it took one person approximately 30 minutes to assemble, though the instructions do recommend using two people. The process may have gone faster with an extra set of hands, and screwing the backrest onto the seat and aligning the tilt mechanism under the seat would have been a much smoother process with a little help. Even so, the assembled chair feels sturdy and all of the mechanisms are working correctly.
Fans of League of Legends won't want to miss this inspired chair, an excellent memento of the Ruination event and Bilgewater's champions. The Secretlab League of Legends Ruination Collection is a perfect showcase for the new TITAN Evo 2022, brining ergonomic innovation and sleek style to gamers who want to dominate in comfort.
