Released in 2016, The Secret Life of Pets was a huge success, pulling in $875 million at the box office. Packed with adorable furry creatures and voices of Hollywood A-listers, The Secret Life of Pets follows a Jack Russell Terrier named Max (Louis C.K.). While his owner is at work, Max associates with other pets of the building, including Snowball (Kevin Hart), Gidget (Jenny Slate), Chloe (Lake Bell) and Buddy (Hannibal Buress). Max’s spoiled life comes to a halt when his owner adopts a stray named Duke (Eric Stonestreet). The Secret Life of Pets 2 will have changes in the cast including Patton Oswalt taking over the voice of Max and Harrison Ford playing Rooster  - in Ford’s first-ever voice role.

In The Secret Life of Pets 2, major life alterations are in store for the animals. Terrier Max (Oswalt) is stressed from the overwhelming need to protect his owner’s new baby, Liam. Max, Duke, and their humans take a family trip to a farm where they encounter a wise farm dog named Rooster. The other pets are faced with a slew of events leading to disarray and hilarity. Pomeranian Gidget must place herself in a house full of cats to salvage a toy, Chloe discovers catnip, and Snowball believes he is a superhero - after being dressed like one. Illumination has released the final trailer for the film, which can be seen below:

The Secret Life of Pets 2 is in the creative hands of Illumination founder Chris Meledandri and Janet Healy - who both were responsible for Dr. Seuss’s The Grinch as well as Despicable Me and Minions. The sequel marks the return of the first film’s director Chris Renaud and screenwriter Brian Lynch. Fans can purchase tickets now on the ticketing company’s official website. The sequel to The Secret Life of Pets is not the only highly anticipated event involving the furry friends. Universal Studios Hollywood has announced a ride based on the movie called, "The Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash!". The ride will be placed adjacent to the “Despicable Me Minion Mayhem”, and is slated to open in 2020.

As 2019 reaches its halfway mark, it is becoming apparent that it is animation’s turn to dominate the box office. Along with The Secret life Of Pets 2, the upcoming Toy Story 4 and Frozen 2 are expected to slay ticket sales. The Secret Life of Pets 2 has combined an original storyline, adorable animation, laugh out loud moments and life lessons into one tidy package. The pets at home may have a few surprises in store, but it is no secret that The Secret Life of Pets 2 will be another tremendous hit for Illumination.
