We’re less than a month away from The Secret Life of Pets opening in theaters stateside, so now, more than ever, even more teasers and trailers have been expected to start rolling out to help increase awareness and excitement for the next Illumination Entertainment film. The animation film production company, although still being a relatively new entity founded in 2007, opened with the smash-hit Despicable Me, along with the even more successful spinoff in Minions, which grossed over $1 billion worldwide.

With so many different characters involved in The Secret Life of Pets, it should have been expected that Illumination Entertainment would start rolling out more character-targeted teasers to give potential moviegoers a glimpse at how all these animals are going to fit together in the film. Well, potential moviegoers were greeted with a plethora of new clips showcasing some of the film’s central characters interacting with one another yesterday.

In the first two clips, Max, the film’s main character, is seen complaining to his friend Chloe, a cat, while also struggling to live with his new roommate, another dog named ‘Duke’. In the third clip, Snowball, a ferocious, white rabbit, is introduced as a leader of a stray-pet group that both Max and Duke try and join. In the fourth clip, we see more of Snowball, who awkwardly drops some pellets while giving another pep talk. In the film clips, fans are shown, Gidget, another friend of Max’s, who is trying to find him.

The five clips released by Illumination Entertainment, build off the third trailer, which was released in April, and gave a much-bigger picture of what The Secret Life of Pets was really going to be about. Some scenes from the five clips have been featured in those earlier trailers; however, the new clips expand on those moments that may have been overlooked in the jam-packed trailers.

If Zootopia and The Jungle Book are any indication, there is certainly a large appetite for films like The Secret Life of Pets moving forward. As you can see from these five clips, the film has a lot of different characters to work with, which should be challenging, but Illumination Entertainment hasn’t missed the mark yet. It’s also easy to see from the clips that there is potential for a Snowball-led spinoff if The Secret Life of Pets dominates the box office anywhere close to what Minions was able to do.

The Secret Life of Pets opens in U.S. theaters on July 8th, 2016.
