A new video of Sebastian Stan training for his upcoming role in Avengers: Infinity War has appeared online, thus building excitement for the highly-anticipated superhero mashup. Ever since Marvel Studios showed their cards in the post-credits scene of Joss Whedon's The Avengers in 2012, thus revealing Thanos, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been building up to an ultimate showdown between Earth's Mightiest Heroes and the Mad Titan (Josh Brolin). That confrontation begins in Anthony and Joe Russo's Avengers: Infinity War next year.

The last Avengers film, Avengers: Age of Ultron, added five heroes to the superhero team's roster: Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), Falcon (Anthony Mackie), War Machine (Don Cheadle), Vision (Paul Bettany), and Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) -- the latter of which was killed saving Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner). In keeping with tradition, the upcoming Avengers film adds more characters to the ever-growing team, including the Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), who was last seen inside Wakanda in one of the post-credits scenes in the Russo brothers' Captain America: Civil War.

Last month, a photo of Stan and Scarlett Johansson, who plays Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow, appeared online, showing the duo training for their appearances in the upcoming film, and now a new video has emerged online showing Stan bulking up for the role. Take a look:

The actor had previously undergone extensive training to prepare for his role as the brainwashed Winter Soldier in the Russo brothers' Captain America: The Winter Soldier in 2014. His training was necessary for his opposition to his former best friend, Steve Rogers/Captain America (Chris Evans), to be believable. Stan then trained even more for his reprisal in Civil War last year. Of course, taking on the Mad Titan Thanos requires each superhero (and anti-hero) to be in prime condition, otherwise, they might fail in their task of defending the Earth (and the galaxy).

Avengers: Infinity War is the first film to unite all corners of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (at least in regards to Marvel's movie division), bringing the Guardians of the Galaxy -- Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Drax (Dave Bautista), Rocket (Bradley Cooper), Groot (Vin Diesel), Mantis (Pom Klementieff), and Nebula (Karen Gillan) -- together with the heroes of Earth. In addition to the core Avengers team, Infinity War also includes Spider-Man (Tom Holland), Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), Wong (Benedict Wong), and many more.

The upcoming film will feature the biggest superhero mashup in cinema history, and that's an impressive feat, despite vocal concerns about comic book movie over-saturation. Of course, right now, people are curious about how all of these characters will unite when the time comes to battle Thanos. Given the events of Civil War, it'll surely be interesting to see how Sebastian Stan's Winter Soldier comes to fight alongside the Avengers (Iron Man, in particular) come next year.
