Filming of Avengers: Infinity War posed some logistical challenges for its actors, Sebastian Stan says. Marvel's most ambitious undertaking yet aims to bring together all the moving pieces of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as they wrap up the overarching narrative told through multple films in 10 years. With a cast as big as the one for the new Joe and Anthony Russo-directed project, Stan talks about how the film studio arranged the actors' respective shooting schedules, revealing that it was an on and off thing.

All MCU roads lead to Infinity War with Earth's Mightiest Heroes finally meeting their cosmic counterparts, the Guardians of the Galaxy. Together, the two teams, with the help of other independent heroes such as Doctor Strange and Black Panther, will have to come up with a plan to make sure that the Mad Titan's universe-altering plans will never come to fruition. The idea of seeing all these heroes come together is definitely exciting for all fans, prompting us to will May to arrive faster. What we often fail to consider is how demanding it must be for the cast and crew just to shoot the movie.

Stan gives us an idea of how rigorous and sometimes confusing it was to make a movie as big as Infinity War. Appearing at the recently held  Rhode Island Comic Con (via, the actor who plays Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier in the Captain America movies talks about the challenges that the cast faced during production:

“It’s not something you always deal with. I feel like you always kind of have a script. But I guess, what I would say is, because we’ve done these characters for a bit now, there’s a little bit of a telepathic kind of knowledge between us and the writers. And you kind of can sometimes guess where they’re going to take it, a little bit.

Lest we forget that Infinity War (which started filming January of this year) filmed back-to-back with its still-untitled sequel resulting in an over a year spent in principal photography doing both films. Granted that most of the cast in Avengers 3 is also coming back for Avengers 4, we can only imagine how intricate Marvel Studios' logistical plan for the ensemble flick to make sure that all actors are available when they need them. This is all on top of filming Ant-Man and The Wasp, polishing up Black Panther, plus promoting Guardians of the GalaxySpider-Man: Homecoming and Thor: Ragnarok. Further, with tese standalone films having multiple characters also supposedly appearing in at least one of the two new Avengers flick, optimizing the scheduling is necessary to make sure that all these projects are progressing on time.h

Aside from being challenging, apparently both physically and mentally given that they film is jumbled sequences, Marvel President Kevin Feige shares his own takeaway from filming Infinity War saying that it was surprisingly emotional for him and aptly so given that he was the architect of what is now the highest grossing movie franchise. The Russo brothers may not have shared their thoughts on the matter, but if anything, we expect them to be exhausted from manning the aforementioned projects that it's a good thing that they have each other to rely on.

It won't be long before we see what Stan and the rest of the MCU have been cooking for us with Avengers: Infinity War. The trailer for the film is expected to drop before the year ends and popular theory is that it may be attached to next month's Star Wars: The Last Jedi which is another Disney property.
