The Bachelor season 17 star Sean Lowe helped the newest lead of the reality dating show, Zach Shallcross, through his journey to find his wife. Sean was The Bachelor in 2013, where he proposed to Catherine Giudici. They were married over a year later, on January 26, 2014, in a live television ceremony. Sean and Catherine have since had three children, Samuel, 6, Isaiah, 4, and Mia, 3.

Since Sean is the only Bachelor who married his final choice, he is the perfect person to guide The Bachelor's Zach Shallcross through his experience. Zach has expressed that he is ready to be a husband and a father. The Bachelor season 27 has been called a throwback to the romantic heyday of the show, and Sean is known as the ultimate Bachelor lead. It seems only natural that Sean offered Zach some advice and helped to guide him through his journey during and after the show.

On the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast, Sean opened up about how he helped to guide Zach through his Bachelor journey. He shared that he told Zach that "this is about to be crazy." He warned Zach, who might be the next great Bachelor, that no matter how prepared he might have thought he was, he had no idea what he was walking into. Sean explained to Zach, "it will be so surreal, and it's gonna be nuts." Sean wanted to prepare Zach mentally for the "hardest part," which he said would probably be after the cameras stop rolling and the press starts, calling it "a whirlwind." Sean said he knew that when he was giving Zach advice, "he would take it to heart." He shared he has "the utmost confidence that he's gonna be a great Bachelor."

Sean revealed even though he was filming The Bachelor and the goal was to hopefully find love it was okay if it didn't happen. He wanted Zach, who thinks fans will love his season, to know that he should not make the situation harder than it really needed to be. Sean told him that if he could "just relax and have fun with it, it's an amazing opportunity to travel the world and do things that you would never do otherwise [...] don't worry about all the other c**p." Sean was referring to things such as social media and commentary from the press.

In an interview with ET, Zach explained that he looked to Sean as an example. Sean found his best friend through The Bachelor, which convinced him "it's real" and could happen to him as well. Zach, who is a Leo, said he spent a day with Sean and "he kind of [talked] me through how to be a Bachelor 'cause it’s so new to me." On the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast, Sean shared that he told Zach, "you've got a buddy here. If you need me, reach out [...] I wanted to make sure he was doing well." Sean explained that being the lead is different from being one of 25 guys on The Bachelorette because "you really don't have friends," and "mentally, it can definitely take a toll on you." Overall, Sean wanted Zach to know that "very few people have gone through this, but I have, so if you need me I’m here for you."

Sean Lowe Says He & Zach Shallcross Have Some Very Funny Bachelor Scenes

Sean admitted that when he returned to film for The Bachelor season 27 with Zach, he didn't want to do the "same old, same old" scene of him advising the new lead. Instead, they filmed "some absolutely ridiculous stuff" and put themselves in "some really funny situations." One of these hilarious scenes was shown in a Bachelor promo where Sean helps Zach scrub his abs with a brush in the shower.

Sean and Zach seem to have created a strong bond throughout The Bachelor season 27. Sean is a great example for Zach to emulate since he achieved the goals of becoming a husband and father which is what Zach wants out of his journey on the show. Hopefully, Zach will follow in Sean's footsteps and find his forever love on The Bachelor.
