Seal Team has outlasted the competition, becoming one of CBS’s most watched shows. The perfect compatibility of the Bravo team under the leadership of Jason Hayes (David Boreanaz) made the military drama addictive to its audience. After three seasons and with minor changes to the cast, it is hard to imagine that there was any hardship fitting together in the first season.

Most of the people that have become key stars of the team, including Brock, portrayed by Justin Melnick, were actually never expected to last this long on the show. The show's perfect ratings have earned the cast a spot at the top and fans may be surprised to learn these interesting facts about them.

Cerberus (Dita)

Dita aka Cerberus is fully trained in explosive detection, tracking, and human apprehension. She has become a key member of the cast and rarely misses a mission.

In real life, she works as a police K9 dog. The Belgian Malinois is owned by Justin Melnick (Brock). Deets was Born in Indiana, U.S.A on July 2, 2014. She is “tri-lingual” and can bark in three different languages. Fun fact, Dita’s cousin is on The Person of Interest.

Justin Melnick (Brock)

Justin Melnick has never been in the military, despite his great performance on the show.  The American actor is a police officer, a canine handler, and a war photographer.

Interestingly Melnick did not go to the audition expecting to be a part of the main cast. Instead, he was trying out for a stunt man position that would possibly run for a few episodes. He was, however, recruited to the main cast and joined the Bravo Team.

Tyler Grey (Trent)

Achieving his directorial debut with Seal Team was a life-changing event for Grey. The actor/producer has had his fair share of life’s pain, both in the military and in film. A 2005 mission to Sadr City, Baghdad, forced Grey to retire from the military after nine years of service, after suffering injuries. The attack left scars on his right hand.

The former Delta Force operator and Sniper-qualified Army Ranger’s military background has helped shape Seal Team into a perfect adaptation of an actual squad. Grey acts as a second writer on the show, giving first-hand advice on matters military.

Judd Lormand (Eric)

Judd Lormand plays Lieutenant Commander Eric Blackburn in Seal Team and acts as the main father figure, which coincides with his real-life family roles. He is a father of three and is married to Felicia Landry.

He has appeared in over 70 productions, including Snitch, Miracles from Heaven, and Memphis Beat. Before joining the Seal Team cast, he was working on independent wrestling shows and he remains good friends with the famous wrestler, A.J. Styles.

Her notable film credits include Lethal Weapon and The Twilight Saga. She also co-starred in the 2012 Fox Searchlight Film, Ruby Sparks. Tony Trucks is not married, but she is in a relationship with John Wernke, so Sonny (Allan J. Buckley) is not her real-life partner.

Allan John Buckley (Sonny)

This actor, director, and writer is of Irish-Canadian descent and was born on February 9, 1977, in Dublin, Ireland.

Buckley is a prolific actor and is well known as Pigeon Pete in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. He also portrays scientist Adam Ross on CSI: NY. Buckley is the co-founder of Paperclip, an innovative line of high-end diaper bags.

Neil Brown Jr. (Ray Perry)

Jessica Pare (Mandy Ellis)

Pare is the mother of one and has won the hearts of many, ranking 37th in The Annual Independent Critics List of The 100 Most Beautiful Famous Faces from Around the World for 2010.

Coincidentally, in Mad Men, her character mentioned that her father was a college professor, which is actually true in real life. Pare has won one award out of seven nominations and has been in a relationship with John Kastner since May 2012.

Max Thieriot (Clay Spenser)

Max Thieriot has been nominated twice and won one award. The interesting thing about him is that he has 10 countries in his ancestry. He is of Norwegian, Danish, Irish, Dutch, Scottish, Jewish, English, German, and Northern Irish descent!

David Boreanaz (Jason Hayes)

At the age of seven, David Paul Boreanaz had already decided that he wanted to be an actor. This led him to study cinema and photography at Ithaca College in New York. His father is of Italian descent, while his mother is half Slovakian. David was born on May 16, 1969, in Buffalo, New York.

He has won The Bravo Otto Award for Best Male TV Star twice, both in 2000 and 2001, and the awards for Best Genre TV Actor (2000) and Best Actor in a TV Series (2003 and 2004) at the Saturn Awards at the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Film.
