The main cast of Scrubs reunites in a recent photo. Over 10 years have passed since the world of Sacred Heart Hospital came to an end. The Zach Braff-led sitcom began back in 2001, and was decently popular when it first released. Following a decrease in ratings, however, Scrubs was cancelled after season 9, wrapping up in 2010.

Scrubs' central cast includes Zach Braff, who plays protagonist J.D., Donald Faison, Sarah Chalke, Neil Flynn, Ken Jenkins, Judy Reyes and John C. McGinley. These seven main players, who play the nurses, doctors, and in Neil Flynn’s case, the janitor, appear in almost every episode. Once the Scrubs actors parted ways, many have had smaller TV careers, but others have made notable appearances including Flynn in ABC’s The Middle and Chalke as a key voice actress in Rick and Morty. Scrubs showrunner Bill Lawrence has gone on to produce the critically acclaimed Apple TV series Ted Lasso

Now, the Scrubs cast finally reunites in a picture posted on Lawrence’s Instagram. The picture shows Lawrence with six of the main Scrubs members, including Braff, Faison, and Chalke, smiling or making funny faces at the camera as they share drinks in a restaurant. Lawrence expresses fond admiration to his former Scrubs actors in the post stating “Great night. Grateful for these folks. Grateful to the people who still watch.”

Lawrence is paying tribute not just to the actors who made it possible, but for the ongoing Scrubs fanbase. Being canceled over a decade ago, the contingent of people who still watch Scrubs is a small but devoted one. The recent photo is certainly heartening to those who adore the show; it is a sign that the tight-knit dynamic of the Sacred Heart Hospital was not entirely fabricated. Rather, as evidenced by their recent reunion, the Scrubs cast grew closer. Over two decades since the premiere of Scrubs, those bonds between actors clearly remain as the group reunite happily in this restaurant photo.

What is up next for the Scrubs folks? Could there be a Scrubs reboot in the works? While there is no Scrubs reboot currently green lit, Lawrence recently teased a Scrubs revival. Hope for a Scrubs reboot could be wishful thinking on Lawrence's part. Lawrence clearly adores his cast and appreciated his fan base according to the Instagram photo. However, with such a close cast and some devoted fans, perhaps a Scrubs reboot could get enough backing to move forward in the coming years. The restaurant shot could a harbinger of future reuniting for the Scrubs crew, but this time hitting the small screen again.
