Some teen dramas would have the audience believe that high school is the best years of their lives, while others would have them believe that high school is the most fraught with violence and drama. For the residents of the small town in Lakewood that occupy the first two seasons of Scream: The TV Series, the latter is certainly true.

Because their lives suddenly embody the events of a slasher film, the Lakewood residents spend more time running for their lives than they do having a good time. They don't have time for things like reading their horoscopes but that doesn't mean the audience can't figure out their star charts.

Aries: Emma

Emma sits at her desk in a classroom in Scream the TV Series

Emma is the main character in the first two seasons before the show got a complete reboot. Aries make for great protagonists in movies and TV because they're people of action. A fire sign, they're often characterized by impulsive natures and a commitment to a cause.

For Emma, that cause is figuring out who is picking off the residents in her small town and torturing her with creepy phone calls. Her impulsive nature manifests in her desire to face her fears by looking for evidence in abandoned hospitals and homes. She often jumps into action without thinking about the possibility of being caught by a killer.

Taurus: Quinn

Mayor Maddox speaks into a microphone in a gym in the TV show Scream.

Quinn Maddox doesn't get quite as much screen time as the teens in Lakewood. As the mayor, he probably should be taking a bit more time to understand the threats his residents are facing, but Quinn is a creature of habit who doesn't want to admit when everything around him is changing or going wrong - or when he's being blackmailed for his bad actions by a few teenagers.

That stubborn resistance to change is very much a Taurus trait. So is Quinn's love for luxury, who showers his daughter with expensive gifts that he thinks will help her connect with him better.

Gemini: Brooke

Brooke clutches her head with Emma and Noah in the TV show Scream.

When Brooke makes her debut in the first episode of Scream, she seems like she would fit right in with the cast of a future Mean Girls reboot. The superficial teenager appears to be focused on her popularity and her appearance, but the first season reveals there's a lot more to her than that.

She's the first of the popular kids to really welcome Audrey into their friend group, despite knowing that her friends are responsible for Audrey's social ostracism at school. She also manages to fit into just about any group she's a part of - whether that's investigating a murderer, partying it up with the football players, or sitting in a town meeting. Brooke adapts to every tragedy and triumph, like a true Gemini, and remains loyal to the people she cares about, like Emma and Audrey.

Cancer: Maggie

Maggie leans against the door in Scream The TV Series

The mark of a Cancer is their capacity for empathy. No matter how prickly they might seem on the outside, they are extremely in touch with their emotions and those of others. They see the good in everyone. That's exactly what Emma's mother Maggie is like during the run of the series.

Maggie might keep secrets from Emma initially, but it's out of a desire to protect Emma from the emotional turmoil knowing everything about the big mystery of Brandon James will bring. She's the only person in her small town to befriend and care for Brandon James, and Maggie constantly reminds Emma of what others might be going through.

Leo: Jake

Jake smiles menacingly in the TV show Scream.

There are quite a few characters in Scream who long to be the center of attention. Noah doesn't exactly like to take a backseat to the popular kids, for example, but if anyone is the attention-seeking Leo of the group, it's Jake.

Though Jake is ultimately a good guy, he makes some pretty bad decisions to get people to pay attention to him. He manipulates Will into continuing to blackmail people after Nina's death in the pilot episode. Jake just wants to know that people care about him though, and he slowly evolves beyond that desire to manipulate people into being a good friend.

Virgo: Piper

Piper uses her phone to record at a vigil in Scream The TV Series.

When fans focus on fictional Virgos, they tend to focus on the way their traits reflect positively, like those Virgo traits that make up so many of the MCU characters. Some Virgos, however, use their traits for evil instead of good.

That's the case with Piper, a meticulous planner who has crafted the killings herself. She does her research, manipulates Audrey into giving her information, lands a romantic relationship with Kieran to help her, and targets Emma. She puts those Virgo planning skills to nefarious use very well.

Libra: Will

Will glares across the library in Scream The TV Series

Will, like Jake, isn't a bad guy. In fact, he's portrayed as the quintessential "nice guy" initially until circumstances start to push him and Emma apart. That's when he shows a little more edge as he threatens Jake and engages in the blackmail activities.

In reality, Will's categorization, like most people, doesn't fall right in line with good or bad. His life is about that balance, like most Libras who represent the scales. When Will finds his life tipping too far in one direction or the other is when he tends to lash out.

Scorpio: Kieran

Kierani holds a gun and wields a bloody knife in the TV show Scream.

Scorpios often get cast in a negative light because of their tendency to be secretive and aggressively go after what they want. It's easy to place them in the role of the villain, whether they deserve it or not. Even before the villainous twist for Kieran in Scream Season 2, however, it's clear that he has those Scorpio traits.

Kieran latches on to Emma very quickly when he moves to Lakewood. He pursues her when he sees that her relationship with her boyfriend is strained, but he also doesn't offer up much information about himself. While Kieran presses Emma for more about her past and tries to connect with her, he's still keeping his own secrets.

Sagittarius: Noah

Audrey and Noah embrace in Scream episode Jeepers Creepers

Sagittarius is also known as the philosopher of the zodiac. They can be incredibly blunt, but they love to learn new things and tell stories. Noah's particular area of interest is horror and true crime, but he finds himself living out the stories he talks about so much.

Noah is the person who teaches the other characters about horror movie tropes, but he's also the person who educates them on patterns associated with real-life serial killers. His excitement is a little morbid, but infectious, as his friends want to learn from him.

Capricorn: Audrey

Audrey turns with a killer behind her in Scream The TV Series

Capricorns are often viewed as the most ambitious of signs, the character who wants to climb their way up the corporate ladder. That's not exactly the case with Audrey, but she does embody a lot of the other Capricorn traits, like their stoic nature that sees them not crying at sad movies, or holding their anger in until their boil over.

Audrey is pretty good at keeping her emotions in check because she's so used to being someone ignored by her neighbors. She also knows how to hold a grudge, which is why she's not particularly torn up about the girl who bullied her being the series' first victim.

Aquarius: Riley

Riley crosses her arms while in a discussion on a bench at school in Scream The TV Series

Riley doesn't get a ton of screen time, but she's the first slasher victim in the show the audience actually gets to know. One of Emma's popular best friends, she becomes close with Noah very quickly, but their relationship is literally cut short.

Riley is different from the rest of the popular crowd. She is authentically herself, finding beauty in video games, loving to stargaze, and not caring if the person she's interested in isn't popular. She's got a bit of the rebellious Aquarius in her.

Pisces: Zoe

Zoe leans into Noah and gazes up at him in Scream The TV Series.

Zoe is a new student in the second season of the series. In a lot of ways, she's like Riley, finding beauty in areas where others don't. In other ways, she's like Noah, finding a fascination with storytelling and tropes in the same way that he does.

Zoe struggles to fit in with the tight-knit group of friends in Lakewood at first, but her empathy and her ability to see beyond the masks they all wear endears her to them - even, eventually, Audrey. That perceptive nature is definitely that of a Pisces.
