Paramount's upcoming Scream 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray includes a new documentary featurette. It's been 25 years since the late horror master Wes Craven both deconstructed and reinvented the slasher genre with the original Scream. Now Paramount is ready to unleash a new Scream reboot, but before that they'll prime the fans by releasing a 25th anniversary 4K Blu-ray presenting Craven's original vision in all its scary - and funny - glory.

Full special feature details for this Scream 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray have in fact now been revealed (via ComicBook.com) and the package includes a real treat for Scream and Craven fans: a brand new documentary featurette. Entitled "A Bloody Legacy: Scream 25 Years Later," the featurette includes archival behind-the-scenes footage plus new interviews with Scream stars Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, and David Arquette plus writer Kevin Williamson, along with the directors and other cast members of the upcoming 2022 Scream reboot. The package also includes the original Craven and Williamson DVD commentary along with a production featurette, more behind-the-scenes footage and some cast and crew Q&As.

The synopsis for Scream in 4K reads as follows: "25 years after its theatrical debut, Scream remains a wildly entertaining and terrifically terrifying cinematic experience. Directed by Wes Craven and written by Kevin Williamson, the film is a brilliant deconstruction of the horror genre that pays homage to the conventions of slasher films while upending them with clever twists and witty dialogue." The 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray hits stores on October 19th, 2021 while Scream will also enjoy a 25th Anniversary theatrical re-release on October 10th and 11th.
