Scream will be getting a special fan event in January with a livestream Q&A featuring David Arquette. The upcoming Scream film is the next installment of the popular slasher series that started in 1996. The movie will once again feature Ghostface and the famous mask, alongside returning characters from the Scream franchise, such as Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell), Gale Weathers (Courtney Cox), and Dewey Riley (Arquette). The story will pick up after Scream 4's events, featuring a new killer that has targeted a group of teenagers who have an affiliation with the deadly past of Woodsboro.

Since its debut 25 years ago, Scream is widely recognized as the movie that set the tone for the '90s slasher genre. The first film was so successful that Scream 2 was quickly released a year later in 1997. Three years later, Scream 3 was made, before the fourth installment, Scream 4, hit theatres a decade later in 2011. This will be the first time that a Scream film won't be directed by Wes Craven, following his unfortunate passing back in 2015.

Scream's official Twitter page has revealed that the horror movie will get a special 1-day event on January 13. The Q&A live stream will feature Arquette, alongside new filmmakers Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillet, the duo that directed Ready or Not, and screenwriter Kevin Williamson. Tickets for the special event are on sale now and the original tweet can be seen below:

While the above poster doesn't reveal much about the upcoming sequel, Scream's official poster gave a look at all of the fresh faces that are going to be introduced. Along with Scream's veteran cast, the new line-up includes Jack Quaid, and Melissa Barrera, alongside  Jenna Ortega. All the new stars will be playing original characters and one of them could very well be the killer in the film. The art trolled fans by saying "The killer is on this poster," which also teases that Scream will be a meta-style horror movie like its predecessors.

With horror reboots of classic properties being more popular than ever, Paramount is hoping they can find success with Scream. The Scream movies have always brought in audiences with the question of who the new killer is behind the Ghostface mask. Having Arquette at the Q&A could mean he is the killer in the movie. On the other hand, Arquette is one of the most recognizable stars in the franchise, so that could be the other reason why he was chosen for the livestream. Scream already has horror fans excited with the amount of returning characters and a new metallic Ghostface mask, but this fan event will give die-hard fans a chance to have a unique viewing experience.
