The following article contains major spoilers for Scream 2022.

The latest sequel in the Scream franchise finds a very familiar showdown at the end, which has more than a few similarities to Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. Scream 2022 stars original franchise stars Neve Campbell, David Arquette, and Courtney Cox, but welcomes a new host of actors to the series as well, including Jack Quaid, Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega, Dylan Minette, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, Sonia Ammar, and Mikey Madison. By the time the film reaches its conclusion, it's revealed that both Quaid and Madison are the killers, two "Stab" obsessed sociopathic lovers who will do anything to keep the franchise alive, even it means copycat killing their friends.

As with all the Scream films, Scream 2022 finds the killers squaring off with their remaining prey in a confined area, in this case the very same house that it all went down in the first Scream film. Eventually, the killers corner both Sidney (Campbell) and Gale (Cox) in the kitchen, where they confess their motive and overall plan, which was to create a series of ghostface murders that would reinvigorate interest in the "Stab" franchise (the fictional movies that adapt the events of Scream in the film). At one point, Quaid's Richie leaves the kitchen, leaving Madison's Amber with both Sidney and Gale. A scuffle ensues, creating a series of events that play out in a very similar fashion to Tarantino's Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, particularly for Madison, who appears in both films and has an eerily similar fate in both.

In Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, Madison plays Sadie, a member of Charles Manson's cult, who teams up with two other members from the family to break into the home of actor Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) in order to murder him. However, they didn't anticipate Dalton's best friend, Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt) being there as well - along with his dog, Brandy. Booth makes short work of them, bashing in Madison's face as she runs screaming at him with a knife. She is then attacked by Brandy, before charging through the window with a gun in jump scare fashion, landing in Dalton's pool. Dalton freaks out and grabs his blowtorch, setting Madison's Sadie on fire as she points her gun at him, screaming loudly before dying. Her fate has a number of familiar beats in Scream 2022, which makes it all the more strange as it's the same actress in both films.

In Scream 2022, Madison is punched by Gale, bloodying her face (similar to Booth smashing her face with the can). Madison's incessant screaming is another factor, as it's very loud and distinct in both films, as she rabidly attempts to attack her victims, but is summarily stopped before she can do any damage. After getting beaten in Scream 2022, Madison's Amber attempts to attack again, but is shot by Gale, knocking her onto the stove where she is set on fire, burning her upper body. Later, she resurfaces, again in jump scare fashion, wielding a knife, screaming, and lunging at Gale and Sidney before being shot dead by another character. Thus, her fate is sealed again after a loud, bloody, and violent altercation, just like Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.

While the manner of Madison's death in both films varies to some degrees, the fact that she is a violently obsessed sociopath who is summarily beaten, shot, and burned while screaming furiously, as well as coming back in jump-scare fashion makes the similarities between both Scream 2022 and Once Upon A Time In Hollywood eerily similar. It's so similar that anyone who has seen both films would certainly draw the parallel between the character and her fate. If nothing else, it's just a fun connection between the films, and a hallmark for Madison, who excels in both roles, selling her psycho killer performances with zeal.
