Fans of Scream are eager to watch the sixth movie in the franchise, which will hit theaters in March 2023. The confirmed cast members include Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers, several actors from Scream (2022) including Jasmin Savoy Brown, and Hayden Panettiere, who played the popular character Kirby Reed in Scream 4.
While Kirby is definitely one of the most likable characters from Scream 4, her friends and fellow Woodsboro residents aren't all quite so easy to love. The cast of characters in the fourth film in the horror franchise range from sweethearts to jerks who just might be hiding the fact that they're Ghostface.
Trevor Sheldon
Jill's ex-boyfriend Trevor is presented as a terrible person from the start of the movie, as fans learn that he was unfaithful to Jill. Since Jill seems hurt by this, fans sympathize with her and dislike Trevor's attempts to convince Jill to get back together with him.
Although Trevor worries about Jill when Ghosface starts killing people, and he does what he can to win back her heart and prove that he was totally wrong, it's hard to understand why Trevor would hurt Jill so much in the first place.
Jill Roberts
When comparing the motives of the Ghostface killers, Jill has a great one as she's interested in becoming a viral sensation. After learning that Jill is Ghostface and that she convinced Charlie Walker to work with her, it's definitely impossible to like her.
Jill is one of the most cunning Ghostfaces ever as she goes against her own relative and doesn't care what the fallout is. Even before Jill's reveal, audiences might think that Jill is a traditional teenager character who complains and doesn't seem to think about people besides herself.
Judy Hicks
Although fans love watching Judy Hicks in Scream (2022) as she's a sweet mother to her son Wes, Judy is a bit tougher to like in Scream 4 because she has an obvious crush on Dewey Riley.
While Judy is kind and does her best to protect Woodsboro as a police officer, she flirts with Dewey and gives him lemon squares, which feels a bit tricky since he's married to Gale.
Gale Weathers
Gale is a favorite returning character in Scream (2022) and she grapples with a lot, from dealing with the fact that she left Woodsboro to be a morning show host in New York City to losing Dewey.
In Scream 4, Gale is fairly likable since she's married to Dewey and trying to help Sidney Prescott, but she's still focused on fame, success, and notoriety. Gale alternates between showing a soft side and being hyperfocused on her goals.
Charlie Walker
For much of Scream 4, Charlie is shown to be a sweet, loyal and caring character who loves the Stab movies and knows a lot about other horror films. Charlie is best friends with Robbie Mercer and they run the Cinema Club at their school, along with putting on the Stab-a-thon every year where the town gathers to watch the meta horror franchise within Scream.
It feels impossible not to find Charlie endearing and charming as he has a crush on Kirby and wishes that she would give him the time of day. When fans learn that Charlie is one of the Ghostfaces, it's definitely shocking as he seemed so nice.
Robbie Mercer
Robbie is one of the sweetest and smartest Scream characters, as he has a passion for horror movies and enjoys being a part of his social group. While Robbie can be seen as a red herring throughout the film since he knows so much about the genre, he's ultimately one of Ghostface's victims, which is heartbreaking to watch.
Since Robbie seems to be innocent, harmless and a good friend, there's no reason to dislike him, and while his peers tend to dismiss him since he's so into movies, he should be given more credit as a wise and interesting person.
Dewey Riley
Dewey shows his kindness and loyalty in every Scream movie, and in Scream 4, he's balancing his personal life with wanting to stop Ghostface.
Dewey is the most lovable in his scenes with Judy because he can tell that she likes him and that he should keep things professional and as polite as possible. Dewey doesn't want to hurt her feelings, but he wants to make it clear that he's devoted to Gale, a delicate balance that shows how sweet he is.
Kirby Reed
Kirby is a fan favorite Scream character and she has a good sense of humor and her wits about her in Scream 4.
Kirby is a compelling character as she has a baseline knowledge of horror movies, as she shows when Ghostface phones her in one scary scene, but she doesn't get so swept up in fictional worlds that she isn't grounded in reality. Kirby has her guard up throughout most of the movie as she knows that someone who she knows could be the killer and she doesn't want to take any chances. Fans enjoy Kirby's personality and comedic timing.
Sidney Prescott
Sidney Prescott is once again the kindest and boldest character in a Scream movie, and she comes back to Woodsboro in Scream 4 to promote her book, Out Of Darkness. Sidney just wants to help others who have struggled.
Fans always love seeing Sidney and she's in fine form in this movie, as she could leave Woodsboro as soon as she learns that murders are happening again. Instead, Sidney stays and continues to be strong, tough, and impressive.
