Here’s a quick guide to American actor Scout Taylor-Compton’s movie and TV roles outside of Halloween. In 2007, Taylor-Compton took on the role of iconic final girl Laurie Strode (originally played by Jamie Lee Curtis) in musician/filmmaker Rob Zombie’s remake of John Carpenter’s 1978 beloved slasher Halloween. She later reprised the role in the 2009 sequel Halloween II and has since established herself as something of a scream queen by playing characters in several other horror films.

Scout Taylor-Compton’s first foray into the horror genre came starring alongside Chloë Grace Moretz in the 2006 zombie film Wicked Little Things. Following that, she had roles in crime horror An American Crime, direct-to-video horror remake April Fool’s Day and supernatural chiller Life Blood. Over the past decade, the actor has added lots more horror movies to her résumé too, starring in films like 247°F, Flight 7500 and Ghost House. Her most recent horror roles include playing Taylor Wilson in The Lurker, Sherry Roddick in Penance Lane and Star Bedford in Room 9.

Scout Taylor-Compton starred in plenty of movies outside of the horror genre too, of course. She’s had roles in teen comedies including 2004's Sleepover and The First Time, dramas like Tomorrow Is Today and Love Ranch - where she appeared alongside Helen Mirren and Joe Pesci - and psychological thrillers including Obsessed and Return To Sender. In 2010, the actor nabbed a biographical role as guitarist Lita Ford in rock music biopic The Runaways which co-starred Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning.

The Halloween star has had quite a prolific TV career as well. Alongside one-off roles in everything from teen sitcoms like Unfabulous and That’s So Raven to crime dramas including Without A Trace and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, she has a few meatier TV roles under her belt too. She had a recurring role in Gilmore Girls in the early 2000s as Clara – the younger sister of Jared Padalecki’s character Dean Forrester – which earned her a Young Artist Award nomination. She also appeared in several episodes of the original Charmed playing different fairy characters and more recently had a recurring role as sound engineer Erin in the ABC country music drama Nashville.

Scout Taylor-Compton has several films scheduled for release in 2022. Perhaps unsurprisingly given her horror scream queen status, quite a few of the Halloween star’s upcoming roles are in genre movies including The Long Night, Edge Of Insanity and Captive. She’ll also appear in the thriller Model House and is set to star alongside John Malkovich in Adam Sigal’s dark sci-fi comedy The Chariot.
