Iconic Batman writer Scott Snyder will be launching an online “Comic Writing 101” course. The course, which will be available through the Substack subscription platform, will cover every aspect of the comic book writing process, from generating ideas to pitching them to editors. The course starts September 22 and runs through May 2022 on the Substack subscription platform.

Scott Snyder is one of the most acclaimed writers working in comics today. A New York Times best-selling author, Snyder spent the last decade creating some of the most exciting stories in the DC Universe, including a career and character-defining run on Batman. Snyder introduced a number of new elements to the mythos, most famously the mysterious Court of Owls. Snyder was also the guiding force behind the Dark Nights books, which culminated in the birth of a new DC Universe. Scott Snyder has since turned his attention to creator-owned work, forming his own imprint called Our Best Jackett Press. Their initial offering, Nocterra - written by Snyder with art by frequent collaborator Tony S. Daniel - was greeted with high sales and critical acclaim. The imprint will soon release a whopping eight books through Dark Horse and Comixology—all written by Snyder. He is also a teacher who has taught writing at a number of prestigious universities as well as the DC Comics’ Talent Workshop.
