Brie Larson gifted Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World fans with a present on Christmas Day in the form of a “Black Sheep” cover, the iconic song from the movie sung by Larson's character, Envy Adams. Based on the comic the series written by Bryan Lee O'MalleyScott Pilgrim Vs. The World is a meta feature film made in 2010 that blended live action with the colorful graphics seen in comic books yet typically left out of their big screen adaptations. The story follows Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera) as he becomes enamored with the mysterious Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead). While pursuing Ramona, Scott learns that if he wants to date her, he has to battle seven of her evil exes first. In the 10 years since Scott Pilgrim was released, stars from the movie have gone on to become huge names in Hollywood, such as Chris Evans, Anna Kendrick, Mae Whitman, Aubrey Plaza, and Jason Schwartzman.

Brie Larson is another A-list celebrity who was once a fresh face in Scott Pilgrim. The 31 year-old actress – and face of the MCU's strongest superhero – has spent the past decade showcasing her impressive and versatile talents, earning herself several major awards. But even though Larson is an industry tycoon, she recently took a more personable approach to reaching her fans by making a YouTube channel. In the five months since she made her account, Larson has posted 23 videos that let fans see a different side of her which is not as easily visible when she walks down the red carpet. She has posted a variety of different videos, including workout routines, vlogs of her cooking, and a couple of her own audition stories.

Since the launch of her YouTube, Scott Pilgrim fans have been pretty insistent about wanting to see some Envy Adams content on her channel. Luckily for them, Larson has heard their pleas and gifted them with a cover of the first half of "Black Sheep." In a sweet way to cultivate hope for the next year, Larson sang people's hopes for 2021 while she improvised various riffs on her guitar. One fan commented that they hoped for a "Black Sheep" cover, which set Larson up to fake them out by singing the words "a 'Black Sheep' cover is what I hope for in 2021." But stick it out for just a few more minutes, then you can finally see Larson sing the famous rock song from Scott Pilgrim. Continue below to see the full video:

After getting through the first two verses of the song, Larson jokes, "now you're just going to have to fight to get the second part of the song out of me," so perhaps fans will have a chance to hear a full version of the song sung by Larson. But until that day comes, Envy Adams fans can also watch Larson do a dance routine to "Black Sheep" in a different video on her YouTube channel, or check out Anna Kendrick sing as Envy Adams in the 10-year anniversary table read the cast made earlier this year.

As Larson revealed on her Youtube channel before, she initially turned down playing Carol Danvers in Captain Marvel. But luckily she did take on the role because her performance was equally severe yet playful – something that she no doubt was able to pull off because those are two sides of Larson in real life. It will be very exciting to see where she takes the character when Captain Marvel 2 comes out in 2022. Hopefully by then, Larson will have released her full version of "Black Sheep" from Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World.
