Scott Adkins is English but started his career in Asia. He was born in Birmingham, England, and started learning martial arts from a young age of 10, his interest in martial arts grew more when he got robbed at 13.

Adkins' first role came in 2001 when he was featured in Jackie Chan’s Accidental Spy as a henchman. He has gone to star in many movies, be it in leading roles, cameos, or as villains. One of the reasons Adkins is considered a good fit for martial arts movies is because of his martial arts and acrobatic capabilities. He shows much of this in his breakthrough movie, Undisputed 2: Last Man Standing.

Here are 10 worse things Scott has done in a movie.

He Cut The Hand Of A Thief (Ninja: Shadow Of A Tear)

Scott’s character, Casey Bowman, lost his wife in Ninja: Shadow Of A Tear. He acted on the impulse of finding his wife dead to track down the thieves that robbed him earlier that day. When one of the thieves pulled out a gun, Casey pulled out a knife and severed the thief’s hand.

They could have been linked to his wife’s death and they deserved it. However, things didn’t have to go down that way. Give them the luxury of a quick death or, better still, mop the ground with their bodies. It is difficult to blame Casey, as his wife’s death turned him into a monster.

He Snapped The Neck Of One Of His Followers (Undisputed 2: Last Man Standing)

Adkins was a different beast in Undisputed 2: Last Man Standing. He called himself "the most complete fighter in the world," which can’t be argued really as he knocked out many of his opponents, killing some in the process.

One of his followers made the mistake of angering Boyka (Scott’s character), who launched a kick that snapped his head. Even if Boyka is a fighter who is always agitated, he should still work on his impulse; after all, that dead man was his follower and deserved better.

He Kept Kicking Donnie Yen’s Weak Hand (Ip Man 4: The Finale)

Yip Man fighting another man in IP Man.

One of the basic rules of beating one’s enemy or opponent is to hit them where they are the weakest, even if it requires showing no respect or empathy. Scott's character, Gunnery Sergeant Barton Geddes, spit on Chinese martial arts whenever he got the chance. Though he eventually got his ass kicked, he tried everything to beat Ip Man.

Ip Man incurred an injury when he tried to save a girl. He later sparred with the girl’s father who noticed the injury and advised that they use one hand to spar to prevent Ip Man from using his weak hand.

He Burned The Wing Chun Dummy (Ip Man 4: The Finale)

Barton Geddes disrespected people of different races at every chance he got. He believed they were inferior races who cannot measure up to the American standard. And their martial arts? he hated to see it as much as he hated to see the men from other races.

One of Ip Man's grand-students brought the Wing Chun dummy to camp so Geddes could train with it, but, unsurprisingly, he didn’t like it. To humble him, he fixes a fight between the man and a superior officer, who is their martial arts trainer. After achieving his goal, Geddes put the icing on the cake by burning the dummy.

He Hung A Man (Accident Man)

In Accident Man, Adkins plays an assassin who kills and makes it look like an accident. Showing off the character's rather dark sense of humor, Adkins hangs a man and then makes fun of him by checking whether he beat the record for the time spent hanging before dying.

Who makes fun of other people’s death? Make it quick and leave the scene. Ultimately, Adkins's assassin reaps his actions. His men killed his pregnant wife and he retaliated. Karma has a way of serving things hot.

He Shot The Leg Of A Man In Bar & Then Knocked Him Out (Avengement)

Well, in Avengement, Adkins's character, Cain Burgess, starts out as a cool, nice guy. Adkins has been a baby-face from the onset, it's just that age eventually caught up to him.

Cain's brother sets him up to take the fall for a crime he tricked him into committing. Consequently, Cain was sent to prison, where his brother paid some hardened criminals to kill him. Seeking revenge, Cain finds a way to escape and enters his brother's bar with a shotgun, before shooting one of his brother's followers in the leg and knocks him out when he wouldn't stop screaming in pain. The man later died.

He Beat A Whole Dojo (Ninja: Shadow Of A Tear)

As previously mentioned, Ninja: Shadow Of A Tear centers around the aftermath of the murder of the wife of Adkins's character, Casey. Acting mostly on impulse, Casey enters a dojo and mops the floor with all the able-bodied men in there.

Casey did it to get some information, which he did. That said, he could have tracked some of them down to get the same information, however, he chose to risk his pretty face by going up against more than five martial artists at the peak of their training.

He Wanted To Humiliate Ip Man (Ip Man 4: The Finale)

When staging a fight, especially in martial arts, respect and honor are demanded; however, Geddes took a different approach in Ip Man 4: The Finale. In the 2019 movie, Adkins's character calls out all the soldiers and has a cameraman record his fight with Ip Man.

Geddes summons the whole battalion just to make the point that other martial artists and races are inferior. Ultimately, it ended in tears for Geddes, as Ip Man dislocated his arm and neck.

He Accepted To Lose A fight (Savage Dog)

In Savage Dog, Adkins plays Martin Tillman, a captured criminal who must fight for his freedom.

Eventually, Tillman gained his freedom and started fighting for money and everyone, his sponsors and fans, loved it. However, his sponsors proposed even more money if Tillman agreed to lose a fight so they can bet against him and win. He accepted and lost with a bit of drama to make it look real. When speaking of honor, don’t mention Martin Tillman.

He Instructed A Martial Arts Instructor To Disrupt a Chinese Festival (Ip Man 4: The Finale)

Sergeant Barton Geddes was annoyed that Sergeant Hartman pitched Chinese martial arts to a superior officer so that it could be added to the military’s curriculum. In response, Geddes instructs Colin to crash the Chinese festival taking place in Chinatown. In one move, Geddes disrespects an entire culture and way of life.

No one crashes a martial arts party and goes free, even if Colin managed to defeat three masters of different Chinese martial arts styles. He, however, angered Ip Man, who showed him that fighting isn’t about brute force.
