Scoob! not only dared to take the Mystery Inc. gang to the world of 3D animation, but it also set up multiple Hanna-Barbera movies that could build their own shared universe in the near future. The trend of interconnected film franchises emerged with the success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which leads the film industry to this day. So far, none of Warner Bros.' five shared universes have rivaled it, but Scoob! might be the proof that the sixth time's a charm.

With so many years of classic Hanna-Barbera material to draw from, there are many ways they can go about it. What's really certain is that the possibility of having 3D-animated adaptations of quintessential titles like The FlintstonesYogi Bear, and The Smurfs existing in the same universe depends on the success of Scoob's idea to set them up properly. Though the main criticism Scoob! received is that it focuses too much on the Hanna-Barbera part of the story and too little in the core group of characters, this could very well be the beginning of a franchise like nobody has seen before.

Besides all of the possible movies that could derive from Scoob's countless cameos and easter eggs such as Hong Kong Phooey and even The Hex Girls, the movie clearly sets up other major films down the line. Here's every Hanna-Barbera movie that could follow Scoob! as a foundation for its shared universe.

The Blue Falcon & Dynomutt

Scoob Blue Falcon Dynomutt

The most evident set-up in Scoob! is a movie centered solely on the insecure heir to the title of Blue Falcon (Mark Wahlberg) and his robotic dog Dynomutt (Ken Jeong). After all, the main plot of Scoob! takes off when the heroic duo saves Shaggy (Will Forte) and Scooby (Frank Welker) from certain death at the hands of the cute little Rottens and brings them on board their ship to go find the three Dog Skulls before Dick Dastardly (Jason Isaacs) and Muttley (Billy West) put their hands and paws on them. If Scoob's Hanna-Barbera cinematic universe intends to launch with established characters, these two are the way to go.

Captain Caveman and the Teen Angels

Scoob Set Up A Captain Caveman and the Teen Angels Movie

In the original cartoons, Dee Dee Skyes (Kiersey Clemons) is the leader of Captain Caveman's Teen Angels - a trio of mystery-solving agents inspired by the classic Charlie's Angels TV show. One of the many differences between Scoob! and the cartoons, however, is that she introduces herself to Shaggy and Scooby as the pilot of The Falcon Fury ship and doesn't meet Captain Caveman (Tracy Morgan) until the team arrives at his island under Messick Mountain. A future movie can show the creation of the Teen Angels and explore what Scoob! set up with Captain Caveman's brief Colosseum battle.

Scooby's All-Star Laff-A-Lympics

Scoob! Set Up A Scooby's All-Star Laff-A-Lympics Movie

Considering the direction in which Scoob! chose to take its story, Scooby's All-Star Laff-A-Lympics is bound to be the  Hanna-Barbera version of The Avengers. There's tangible proof of this in the movie: instead of a post-credits scene, Scoob! teases multiple Hanna-Barbera characters in its end-credits sequence, including Atom AntGrape Ape, and JabberJaw - and alluded to the existence of Johnny QuestThe Jetsons, and Frankenstein Jr. and The Impossibles. All of them are assembling in an updated "Falcon Force" team.

The same way Marvel increasingly introduced new titles after the main team was established, all of these characters could have their own movie sooner than anybody expects - but most probably after the Laff-A-Lympics gathers them all together for the first time. The end-credits sequence also reveals that Muttley helped Dastardly escape from prison, suggesting that a big event is coming.

Scoob! took an ambitious step toward the formation of a Hanna-Barbera 3D-animated universe. Although a little bit too rushed, the movie showed how every known character has progressed past their classic adventures, including an easter egg that reveals Dick Dastardly caught the Yankee Doodle Pigeon before the events of the Scoob!. Moreover, if this bold strategy doesn't work out, the next film could still slow down and focus on the adventures of Mystery Inc. right after solving their first mystery as children.
