Science-fiction is one of the most interesting genres of film out there. The movies allow filmmakers to explore ideas and concepts outside of what is possible in our own world. There are so many great sci-fi films, from the classics to the modern gems. But which sci-fi films are right for Aries viewers?

Aries is the first astrological sign in the sphere of zodiac signs, and they take that position to heart. Aries are extremely active and competitive people with a lot of passion and energy. Given these characteristics, we can determine which sci-fi movies Aries will love and which they will hate.

Love: Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes

Caesar in Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes

Aries have so much energy to spare, it's not surprising that they can often be inspiring to others. When they find an outlet for their passions, they often use their own energy to lift others up and convince them to follow their path. Aries are known to be great leaders.

Hate: Brazil

Johnathan Pryce in Brazil

Brazil is a unique and brilliant sci-fi epic from filmmaker Terry Gilliam. It is set in a future in which everything is overseen through bureaucracy. The film follows a mild-mannered clerk who dreams of a more exciting life only to get more than he bargained for when he is mistaken for an enemy of the state.

The world of the film itself would be very frustrating to Aries as they are not ones to sit around and wait. More so, they hate being disappointed which would make the rather bleak ending a major letdown for these viewers.

Love: The World's End

Simon Pegg with the pub crawl map in The World's End

The World's End is the third film in Edgar Wright's Three Cornetto trilogy. It follows a group of middle-aged friends who reunite in their hometown to attempt a pub crawl from their youth. However, they soon find something is off about the town and its inhabitants.

The film maintains a fast-paced momentum that Aries will enjoy. But the real draw for them is the character played by Simon Pegg. Though irresponsible and reckless, he is a man who refuses to be controlled. His main mission in life is to live free and do what he wants which could be said for many Aries.

Hate: Passengers

Passengers (2016) - Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence

That freedom to roam and explore drives many Aries people. They hate to be tied down in one situation and prefer to have a world of options available to them. That is why Passengers would be such an uncomfortable experience for them.

Chris Pratt stars as a man on a passenger spaceship who wakes up decades too early and is alone of the ship. After gradually going mad with loneliness and doing the same thing over and over again, the man chooses to wake up another passenger. The thought of being stuck with the same person and doing the same things for years is a nightmare for Aries.

Love: Rollerball

Aries have a natural competitive drive in them which means they often really enjoy competitive sports. That would make Rollerball a perfect choice for Aries viewers as it is one of the few science-fiction movies that is also a sports movie.

The movie is set in the future in which a deadly and brutal sport known as Rollerball is the biggest form of entertainment in the world. The high-energy nature of the sport and the high stakes need to win would surely be exciting for Aries.

Hate: The One I Love

Aries might not like being tied down or being dependent on others, but that's not to say they cannot have successful relationships. However, they certainly don't like being in an inactive relationship or having to talk things out.

The One I Love is a unique sci-fi drama that Aries will want to avoid. It stars Elizabeth Moss and Mark Duplass as a couple who attends a relationship retreat. While being stuck in a cabin together, they examine their relationship. Though there is more than meets the eye here, the idea of tackling a problem this way is not appealing to Aries.

Love: Predator

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bill Duke

Aries are usually very physical people and have deep connections with their bodies. What better movie to display the obsession over physical perfection than Predator? The movie may be about a group of soldiers battling a deadly alien in the jungle, but the real draw is the muscle-packed cast.

Apparently, the actors like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Carl Weathers, and Jesse Ventura had an intense competition on set to prove who was the biggest, toughest and heaviest of them all. It makes for a pretty fun show in this intense action-packed sci-fi adventure.

Hate: Wall-E

Pixar manages to make another ambitious animated gem with 2008's Wall-E. The film follows a small robot tasked with cleaning up the trash-filled Earth after humans abandoned the planet. As charming as the film is, its depiction of mankind would horrify Aries.

The film shows that since leaving Earth, humans have been living on spaceships, relying on technology to do everything for them while they all become overweight and lazy. This is certainly not the kind of lifestyle Aries want for the future.

Love: Mad Max: Fury Road

If there is one movie that best encapsulates the high-energy and aggressive nature of Aries it would certainly have to be Mad Max: Fury Road. The long-awaited sequel proved to be worth the wait as it delivers a non-stop action-adventure.

Once the movie starts moving, it never slows down. Some viewers might be overwhelmed by the relentless nature of the film, but Aries will probably only admire it more. They are not the kind of people to slow down and this movie takes the same approach.

Hate: The Matrix

The Matrix Neo Death

The Matrix is another wild and thrilling action sci-fi movie, but one that presents a world that would make Aries' skin crawl. Keanu Reeves stars as Neo, a mild-mannered man who is exposed to the reality that his world is a simulation and humans are being controlled by machines.

Aries do not like being lied to. Even the idea that they are being lied to about their very existence would be a frustrating concept for them to handle. More than that, the idea that they are being controlled and used by another power would only add to the stress.
