Netflix has revealed a sinister first look at The Coven from the upcoming adaptation of The School for Good and Evil. The saga began life as a series of fantasy fairytale novels by author Soman Chainani. The first was published in 2013. Five sequels followed, with the overall series concluding with One True King in 2020. Later that same year, it was announced that a series of films would join Netflix's wealth of fantasy offerings.

Chainani was on hand to speak with three members of the principal cast in a new video released by Netflix. They were Demi Isaac Oviawe, Kaitlyn Akinpelumi, and Freya Theodora Parks, who were confirmed as playing Anadil, Dot, and Hester, respectively. Together, they were collectively known as The Coven and formed part of the "Evil" section of The School for Good and Evil. After discussing the project and their roles within, the video concluded at the 4:58 mark with a brief look at the characters in their full, sinister glory. Check it out below:

The synopsis reads: A group of boys and girls are taken to an institution where they are trained to become fairy tale-like heroes and villains. Alongside Oviawe, Akinpelumi, and Parks, The School for Good and Evil was confirmed to feature a cast comprised equally of stars and relative newcomers. Those include Charlize Theron as Lady Lesso, Michelle Yeoh as Professor Anemone, Laurence Fishburne as The Schoolmaster, Kerry Washington as Professor Dovey, Kit Young as Rafal, Sofia Wylie as Agatha, and Sophia Anne Caruso as Sophie. Written by Chainani and David Magee, The School for Good and Evil will be directed by Paul Feig.

The School for Good and Evil is expected for release sometime in 2022.
