Beloved comedy series Schitt's Creek continues to dominate Nielsen's weekly streaming ratings. The Canadian sitcom first began in 2015 and starred comedy legends Eugene Levy and Catherine O'Hara as the heads of the wealthy and self-obsessed Rose family. Along with their children David (Dan Levy, who also created the show with his father Eugene) and Alexis (Annie Murphy), the Roses relocate from their shiny mansion to the poorly-named town of Schitt's Creek following the loss of their fortune. Though it was a relatively small show in the beginning, Schitt's Creek grew in popularity when it was added to Netflix after its third season.

Schitt's Creek came to an end after season 6 and hit extreme success this year as more and more people started binging the show on Netflix. In September, Schitt's Creek swept at the Emmys, winning all seven main comedy categories and nine awards overall. In doing so, it set the record for most Emmy wins for a comedy series in one season. Fans have largely praised Schitt's Creek's heartwarming story, particularly at a time when audiences are desperately seeking uplifting shows. Therefore, it's no surprise that the series is flexing its strength over on streaming.

Per Deadline, Schitt's Creek has topped Nielsen's weekly streaming ratings for the second week in a row. During the week of October 5-11, Schitt's Creek was viewed for 1.46 billion minutes, putting it a good amount ahead of the number two title, The Haunting of Bly Manor (1.175 billion minutes). It's noted that Nielsen's ratings only take television sets into account, not mobile devices. Still, those are some pretty hefty numbers.

Also of note on this week's list is that Amazon's The Boys continues to be the only non-Netflix series to be ranked. During the week of October 5-11, The Boys ran its second season finale. Overall, it came in fifth place with 752 million minutes streamed, behind the two previously discussed titles, Hubie Halloween (969 million), and The Office (862 million). The rest of the top ten was filled out by Emily in Paris, Grey's Anatomy, The 100, Criminal Minds, and The Blacklist.

That Schitt's Creek held onto the top spot isn't too surprising, since the week in question was also when season 6 arrived on Netflix. For months, subscribers waited to see the final season get added to the service, but it wasn't until after the Emmys that Schitt's Creek season 6 was put up. Clearly, Schitt's Creek received quite the bump after scoring big at the Emmys, and it'll likely continue to do so as more and more people discover the series. It's just a shame the Roses' story has come to an end, though fans are likely still holding out hope for a movie sometime down the line. If it continues to perform well on streaming, it just might happen.
