For Schitt's Creek fans, there's something special that happens whenever Alexis Rose says "Ew!". The way actress Annie Murphy accentuates the ew-ah is genuinely hilarious. Those "ew" moments are multiplied when Alexis says "Ew, David" but viewers aren't picky when it comes to Alexis and her ews. For Alexis, she responds with "ew" to pretty much everything. Whether it's something she doesn't want to do, an outfit she finds heinous, or a rude comment made from David — the only acceptable response from Alexis is "ew."
According to Pop Sugar, Alexis says ew 230 times throughout the series. While it seems like she says it more than over 230 times, each time is better than the next. But which ew moments are the best? There are a few that stand out among the sea of ews.
"Pregnancy Test"
In "Pregnancy Test," the family assumed Alexis was pregnant when Johnny found a positive pregnancy test in the trash can. In reality, the test was Jocelyn's, but Johnny didn't know that before talking to Alexis about her options.
By the end of the episode, Moira calmed everyone's worries by telling them that Alexis wasn't pregnant. Instead, she was attending college. While talking about the possibility of carrying a baby, David—as always— chimed in, resulting in a "What? Ew!".
"Surprise Party"
In "Surprise Party," Alexis was in a relationship with Ted but was feeling attracted to Mutt during their community service outings. In one scene, Mutt sweetly touches Alexis' hair, which she assumed was an affectionate move.
However, when Mutt released his hand from her hair, he told her there was a bug. The look on her face proved that she thought his graze was something more. To hide her embarrassment and her true feelings, she adorably said "ew" while laughing it off.
"Happy Ending"
At the beginning of "Happy Ending," Ted and Alexis were talking about the beginning of their relationship when they gave each other tokens of affection. Alexis panicked when Ted brought up the locket he gave her, so she spent the whole day trying to get it back from Twyla.
At the end of the day, Alexis was happily wearing her locket, but Ted admitted that he burned a few of her gifts with the animals he had to get cremated. As assumed, Alexis said ew and “booped” his nose.
"RIP Moira"
When David needed help getting a local farmer to lend her cheeses to Rose Apothecary, he and Alexis took a drive to her farm to convince her. It wasn’t until they were near her farm that Alexis found out the farmer in question was Ted’s current girlfriend, Heather.
She began to panic while eating the cheese samples while David made a funny reference to Heather getting her hands on her cheeses. Of course, the only thing Alexis could think to say was “ew.”
"The Hike"
When Alexis decided that she was going to go to the Galapagos Islands with Ted, the couple prepared by getting all their shots and pre-packing.
When Alexis worried about different needles for the vaccines they needed, Ted compared them to getting Botox (while poking at her forehead). Alexis hilarious denied his statement and said “ew, Ted! What am I, 32?”.
"Meet The Parents"
Moira wasn’t pleased to go to a soap opera convention in season 5, because it was something that actresses did when their career suffered. Her tune changed when she saw an old friend from her Sunrise Bay days who was in the same boat as she was.
As the old friends caught up, she complimented Moira by saying she thought Alexis was her sister instead of her daughter. Alexis, however, saw the fake compliment as an insult and said the first thing that came to her head: “ew.”
"Stop Saying Lice!"
When Alexis got lice at school, she was disturbed at the idea of bugs crawling around her head. The only thing she could think of doing was run to the vet clinic and steal pet lice shampoo. But as she was searching through the shampoos, Ted walked in and questioned her.
After denying the fact that she was the one with lice, she eventually admitted that she needed help. Luckily for her, Ted helped her out. While he was combing the lice out, he described how big the lice were, which was enough to make them both gag (and say ew).
"Ronnie's Party"
On Alexis’s first day of work, she was embarrassed to wear scrubs. She wished they were more fashionable and cute — especially after David said she looked like a stick of gum.
To look more feminine, Alexis cut her pants into shorts and paired the look with heels. Unfortunately for her, bare legs in a vet clinic is a bad idea. Ted told her that she needed pants to protect herself from potential bugs that the pets carry. And as per usual, Alexis screamed “ew” at the thought of such a thing and she wore pants from then on.
"Housewarming"
At Patrick and Ted’s housewarming party, everyone had too much to drink while playing drinking games. Ted, especially, drank too much and gave David a big kiss on the lips to show his love for him and his family.
Alexis was disturbed at the thought of her boyfriend kissing her brother and couldn’t fathom kissing her boyfriend again afterward. Knowing this, Ted playfully kissed Alexis that night while she tried hiding from him, saying “ew, ew, ew!”. It was oddly a sweet moment between the pair.
"Allez-Vous"
In "Allez-Vous," Alexis had an annoying day with Ted when she found him being too nice too often. When she went home, she was flustered by a sea of people during David and Moira's Allez Vous sales pitch. The last thing she felt like doing was joining their party with her boyfriend who she was annoyed by.
So when David told Alexis that he had serums that could help her with her wrinkles, the only response she would think of was "Ew, David." The stern look on her face while talking to David made the moment.
