From 2015 to 2020, Schitt's Creek made leaps and bounds in the TV industry and is known for its creative storylines and comical one-liners. Even if viewers aren't fans of comedy sitcoms, this show is destined to get the grumpiest of grump laughing.

Over the course of the show, the content only got better, and each of the main characters' journeys expanded and made viewers want to root for them. In particular, David Rose (Dan Levy) is an iconic character who turned himself into a successful businessman and learned to love again. But one of the main reasons he's considered an excellent character is because of his sassiness and obliviousness to his comical moments. With that said, check out his best quotes below.

Like Beyoncé, I Excel As A Solo Artist, And My Mom Dressed Me Well Into My Teens!

When Patrick Brewer (Noah Reid) and David decide to run Rose Apothecary together, David's inability to loosen his tight grip on how he sees things is apparent. Instead of doing everything himself, Patrick tries to lend a hand while attending to their customers.

One night, while David, Patrick, and Stevie Budd (Emily Hampshire) sit in the shop after-hours, David's control issues come to a head. When David tries to explain where he learned his control issues, he brings Beyoncé and his mother Moira (Catherine O'Hara) into it, and along with his sassy attitude, there couldn't have been a better response.

The Idea Of Me Life Coaching Another Human Being Should Scare You…A Lot.

By the end of season one, The Rose family has meshed with locals, whether they like it or not. Jocelyn Schitt (Jennifer Robertson) decided to ask David for a favor, and David's response is golden.

While she knows he's figuring out his own sexuality, she asks him to help out a student at her school that's grappling with a similar situation. It's clear by his response that he's never been relied on, which is why his response is so funny. He ends up mentoring a boy named Connor (Matthew Tissi), and they both learn lessons from one another. For that reason, this episode is considered one of the most heartwarming scenes of the series.

I'm Trying Very Hard Not To Connect With People Right Now.

By episode two, The Rose family isn't warming up to the idea of being a staple in the community. While Alexis wants to make the most of it and find a rebound, David doesn't want to interact with the locals and prefers to stay indoors and secluded.

In the opening scene, Johnny (Eugene Levy) realizes his ceiling is leaking and decides to wake David up to ask who Stevie is. David shuts him down by saying he doesn't really know because he's purposely trying to stay away from the people. Classic.

I Could Not Be More At One With Nature. I Do Coachella Every Year.

Johnny, Moira, Alexis, and David are known for their flashy fashion sense and upward-turned noses to their new living situation, making them all a fish out of water in their current situation. The town is small, quaint, and rugged, which means locals enjoy hunting and being outdoors. This is not something that really speaks to the Roses.

After Stevie haphazardly asks David to join in on the annual turkey hunt, David's response proves he's over his head and that his idea of being outdoorsy is a far cry from Stevie's. Being wealthy while partaking in a festival is very different from this adventure, and it shows when David agrees to go.

Some of David's best zingers are when he's woken up at the crack of dawn, and he proves it when Johnny stomps into his room. Johnny is wearing a long nightdress, and it's apparent David has never seen this get up before.

David's comment toward his father's bedtime garb is priceless and is something viewers probably thought when they saw the drenched Johnny Rose too.

It's Just One Long String Of Really Bad Luck, And I Don't Know What Kind Of Carnage I Inflicted In My Past Life To Deserve It. I Must Have Been Dracula Or A Spin Instructor Or Something.

After David receives a "Happy Four Months" anniversary cookie from Patrick, the rest of his family realizes that things are getting serious between them. To celebrate his longest relationship, Johnny suggests they have a barbeque.

While David is used to failure and disappointment in the dating department, he doesn't want to make a big deal out of this one. In fact, he's concerned about jinxing the good thing he has going with Patrick and mentions to Moira that he doesn't know why his dating life is so messed up. If there's a choice between Dracula and spin instructor, at least he'd be in great shape if his past life was spent at Equinox.

She Sort Of Fades Into The Background After A While. You Know, Like A Smoke Alarm.

David talking to Mutt while he makes his sweater box in Schitt's Creek

Before Ted Mullens (Dustin Milligan) came into Alexis's life, her sights were set on Mutt Schitt (Tim Rozon). After Mutt sees David struggling to build a wooden box for his cashmere sweaters, he offers up his handyman skills to make it for him.

While David watches from the side, the conversation drifts to Mutt and Alexis and Mutt's indecisiveness about having her around all the time. To keep her from moving back to the hotel, David does everything he can to stop Mutt from expressing his feelings to her about it. His comparison isn't the most flattering, but it is hilarious.
