Written by Dan Levy, and starring him and his father, Eugene Levy, this Canadian tv show might be the most successful thing to make it past the border, other than Celine Dion and Shania Twain. In Schitt's Creek’s five seasons, the show’s small cast has mixed and matched some of the couples but surprisingly for most of the characters, things have stayed pretty stable.

As the show comes to end in April with its sixth and final season, from Alexis and Stevie to Patrick and Ted, here are ten couples from Schitt’s Creek that would have made a lot of sense though they never got together.

Alexis & Stevie

In the first episode of season 6, where David and Patrick are looking at wedding venues, the man showing them the venue first think Alexis and Stevie are getting married, as the two women tag along with David and Patrick to help with the decision. While David is upset he hasn’t been recognized as part of the actual couple, Alexis and Stevie wouldn’t actually be a bad couple.

While the two women are completely different, Alexis could learn how to mellow out a bit from Stevie, and Stevie could learn how to liven up and enjoy the finer things in life. Plus, actress Hampshire who plays Stevie is actually pansexual, bringing more queer representation to the screen.

David & Mutt

While they might seem a bit of an odd couple at first, Mutt and David actually have similar aesthetic concerns. Sharing Mutt’s converted barn apartment, David would be in heaven, redecorating it to suit his own extravagant tastes.

Plus, while Mutt’s not much of a conversationalist, David could talk enough for two people, and Mutt could put his listening skills to good use. Like the Stevie and Alexis pairing, this pair would contrast each other well, Mutt probably helping David mellow out in a similar way to Patrick. Also, we all know David thinks Mutt is total eye candy.

Patrick & Ted

Both men are actually quite mellow and pretty nerdy about their jobs. They would be able to talk about math and accounting or veterinary medicine and geek out together. Both great listeners, their conversation styles are quite compatible and it would probably be a really relaxed relationship.

Ted might be a little more adventurous than Patrick and would push him outside his comfort zone, though not too much.

Patrick & Twyla

Similarly to Patrick and Ted, Patrick and Twyla would also be a pretty mellow couple. As a business owner of the cafe, Patrick would be able to help Twyla manage it, while also performing more of the housework duties and making sure to take care of her since she works such long hours.

Both a bit on the boring side, they might actually get each other pretty well, ending up that couple next door that everyone likes, but no one wants to go for drinks with for fear of not knowing what to talk about.

Jocelyn & Ronnie

Probably two of the most level headed people on the show, Jocelyn and Ronnie could make a perfect couple. Might most of the other characters are in the clouds and a little oblivious, Jocelyn and Ronnie tend to see through the fog and call Moira or Roland out on their nonsense.

Together, they would make the perfect lesbian musical theatre power couple, putting on the best shows. While Jocelyn might need to step up her game a little bit to get to Ronnie’s level, the couple could grow together in fun and interesting ways.

Ray & Roland

Probably the most outrageous coupling idea on this list, Ray and Roland might actually be a great couple because they’re both so kooky and really funny. Neither Ray nor Roland have much of a personality beyond being oddballs on the show so it’s a bit hard to see how they would be with each other during downtime.

But Roland’s love for Jocelyn shows us he’s more than just a schmuck, and could really support Ray through his multiple jobs since he’s always so busy. And while Roland also works a lot, we see him slacking enough at the job and leaving randomly that he could make time to bring Ray some lunch during his busy weeks.

Bob & Jocelyn

Unlike Roland, while Bob can be silly and a little oblivious, at other times, he’s also pretty sharp, getting rent money out of Johnny when he starts working from his shop. While both Jocelyn and Bob can be people-pleasers, they might counteract each other’s tendencies and be able to take care of each other.

Unlike Roland who takes advantage of Jocelyn’s good nature and leaves her exhausted when they have a baby together because he doesn’t help her as much as he could, Bob would actually take up his half of the responsibility to raise the child, and Jocelyn could have a little more me-time.

Emir & David

Emir is smart, good looking, and very different from the usual residents of Schitt's Creek, which is what attracts Stevie to him. Similarly, David and Stevie got together because of this, feeling seen by another smart, different person. For this reason, it would make sense that David would also see something different in Emir, and be able to meet someone outside of the Schitt's Creek usuals since the dating pool is so small.

And unlike Stevie, David is more obvious and flashy about his feelings, which would stop a misunderstanding from happening like the one that happened between Stevie and Emir.

Ronnie & Stevie

Probably the characters who are the most level headed and living in reality, Ronnie and Stevie both don’t do things they don’t want to do.

They are both curmudgeons with big hearts who speak their minds and are incredibly smart. Despite the age gap, which would take a bit of getting used to on their part, Stevie is quite mature, despite not really knowing what she wants to do with her life. But when she steps up to run the motel with Johnny, she really sets herself up. Ronnie and Stevie also have the staying power because once they commit to something, they really stick around.

Twyla & Stevie

Probably an unconventional couple, Twyla and Stevie don’t often interact on the show. Given this fact, they clearly haven’t discovered the possible chemistry they might share. Both fairly level headed, similarly to the Ronnie and Stevie coupling, they could really get along.

Probably easier on the age front, Twyla could also help Stevie loosen up, and shed some of her preconceived prejudices. Since Stevie often thinks she’s better than everyone else, and Twyla is a people pleaser who gives too much, they might help each other meet each other in the middle and help balance each other out.
