Scarlett Johansson has teased an Avengers: Infinity War scene featuring 32 different characters. Since Marvel Studios announced Infinity War, various individuals involved have spoken about the scale of the film, with directors Joe and Anthony Russo teasing 67 characters at one point, and Kevin Feige describing the film as the culmination of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The film's production has seen a number of recognizable faces report to the set in Atlanta and abroad to begin filming their segments of the massive team-up film. Even with a number of actors announcing their involvement, and when they would be on set, the question still remained: Just how many characters would appear onscreen simultaneously?  As it turns out, Johansson hints at a scene that features over 30 Marvel characters together at once.

The actor recently made an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to promote her latest comedy Rough Night, and could not escape the interview without being asked about her next Marvel appearance. After initially being hesitant to reveal any details on the film, she eventually teased over 60 characters being included. When Colbert asked for clarification if that was in the entire film or a single scene she said:

Avengers Guardians of the Galaxy crossover Infinity War

"I think in one particular scene there's like 32 of us, there's a lot."

The MCU has had its fair share of scenes with large casts. Whether it was the first time the Avengers assembled, the expanded roster and final battle in Avengers: Age of Ultron, the airport fight in Captain America: Civil War, or a number of scenes in the Guardians of the Galaxy films, audiences have seen what it is like to have several characters on screen at once.

That is an exceptionally large number of recognizable characters to have on the screen all at the same time, easily outpacing anything Marvel Studios has attempted before. However, Johansson doesn't specify whether this gathering consists solely of heroes, or if there are villains involved too. That potentially means Thanos and all five members of the Black Order will be present as well. While there is no telling what exactly this scene will entail, it will be a huge moment not only for audiences, but also for Marvel Studios and all the various filmmakers who have helped make the Marvel Cinematic Universe possible. Now all fans have to do is wait.
