Warning: This article contains spoilers for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

Elizabeth Olsen addresses whether Wanda Maximoff will appear in the WandaVision spinoff, Agatha: House of Harkness. Kathryn Hahn made her MCU debut in WandaVision as Agnes, Wanda and Vision's "nosy neighbor." As the series progressed, it because widely believed that Agnes had darker intentions, and by the end of the show, she was revealed to be a witch named Agatha Harkness. After attempting to absorb Wanda's chaos magic, Scarlet Witch defeated Agatha and trapped her inside of Westview, tricking her mind into thinking she really was just a nosy neighbor named Agnes.

An Agatha spinoff was first reported to be in development in October 2021, which was later confirmed a month later at Disney+ Day. Story details are of course being kept under wraps like any other Marvel project. However, the series is said to be a "dark comedy," and WandaVision head writer Jac Schaeffer is returning for Agatha: House of Darkness. It was assumed that Scarlet Witch would at least make an appearance in the Agatha spinoff, but with Wanda seemingly dying at the end of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, her involvement in the show is unclear.

With all that in mind, Olsen claims Scarlet Witch will not appear in Agatha: House of Darkness. When asked about the spinoff series on Good Morning America, Olsen said she would love to work with Hahn again, before saying her character isn't involved in the upcoming Disney+ series, as far as she's aware. The actor then continued to praise Hahn and express how much fun she had on WandaVision. Olsen's original quote can be read below.

I mean I would do anything with Hahn, yeah. I mean no, I’m not appearing in it. Again, not as far as I’m aware. But I love that woman so much. Fabulous. So fun. That entire show [WandaVision] was just filled with lots of joy. Yeah, it was great.

Agatha Harkness WandaVision Scarlet Witch Questions SR

At this point, it's unknown when, or if, Olsen will return as Scarlet WitchDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness ended with Wanda sacrificing herself to destroy the Darkhold on Earth-616 and every other universe. That being said, because Wanda's dead body wasn't seen on screen, there are already theories that she didn't actually die. And with the MCU now in deep with the multiverse, a Wanda variant could just as easily show up in a future Marvel project. The Doctor Strange sequel certainly made it seem as if Scarlet Witch is dead, but with the popularity of the character, there is a strong possibility she will be back.

Agatha: House of Darkness seems like a natural place for Wanda to make her triumphant return. Agatha Harkness' powers are directly linked to Wanda, and with it being a spinoff of WandaVision, it would be an odd choice not to include Scarlet Witch in some capacity. Olsen may be denying her involvement in the project, but this wouldn't be the first time MCU actors have lied to keep secrets about upcoming movies and shows. For example, Andrew Garfield notoriously lied multiple times about appearing in Spider-Man: No Way Home before he appeared on screen at the end of last year alongside Tobey Maguire and Tom Holland. If Wanda is in Agatha: House of Darkness, it will be quite some time before audiences find out since the spinoff hasn't even begun production.
