Today, Bandai Namco revealed a Scarlet Nexus demo is "coming soon" and will first arrive on Xbox Series X|S. Bandai Namco's inking a demo deal with Microsoft hardly comes as a surprise, given the cross-gen action-RPG's announcement during Microsoft's Xbox 20/20 event last year.Bandai Namco showcased even more of the title during The Game Awards 2020, specifically providing a closer look at the dual protagonist story and various gameplay mechanics. Players can expect to follow a single tale bolstered by two separate perspectives, though each one will connect as the narrative progresses. Most interesting are Scarlet Nexus' playable characters - Yuito Sumeragi and Kasane Randall - both of whom boast psychokinesis abilities and serve as new recruits for the Others Suppression Force (OSF). The centuries-old organization is trained to combat the Others, mutants with an insatiable hunger for human brains. Fortunately, the wait for Scarlet Nexus is coming to an end.Related: Scarlet Nexus Min. The post also neglects to mention what exactly the demo will entail, how long it may last, and whether or not players can expect their progress to carry over to the main game. Of course, all of the above and more should receive clarification once the demo rolls out.[EMBED_TWITTER]https://twitter.com/scarlet_nexus/status/1392479720063766540[/EMBED_TWITTER]A pre-launch demo seems a smart marketing move on Bandai Namco's part, especially since there's still plenty to learn about Scarlet Nexus. And, as always, demos are a good way for curious players to get a feel for an experience without fully committing to a purchase. It stands to reason, then, that the free trial will work in Scarlet Nexus' favor.Set in the distant future, Scarlet Nexus' core premise revolves around the idea that a psionic hormone embedded in the human brain grants special powers to some people. Following this ground-breaking discovery, mutants emerged and wreaked havoc across the world due to their hunger for brain matter. It's up to the OSF to preserve what's left of humanity.Next: Scarlet Nexus Trailer Reveals Anime-Inspired Gameplay & CharactersScarlet Nexus comes to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on June 25.Source: Scarlet Nexus/Twitter
