The Saw franchise is one that always looks at people with flaws and who have made mistakes, with Jigsaw looking to punish them and ensure that they learn a lesson from whatever they've done. While Jigsaw himself has become a horror icon, if he was to encounter some of the other incredible horror villains from the movie world, the chances are that they'd end up inside some of the traps.

While there's no question that Jigsaw would be looking to target them to teach the characters some lessons, the question is whether they'd be able to survive. When the usual murderers end up becoming the victims, what would they do?

Would Survive: Patrick Bateman

Patrick Bateman is a true human monster in every sense, and that would see him as an easy target for Jigsaw. However, he's the type of character who is smart enough and lucky enough to be able to survive a situation. Seeing him slither out of a trap at the last second is a believable option for him.

He is someone who would happily take the pain and limp around the rest of the traps in order to do whatever it takes. Patrick is prepared to sink to those depths in order to continue, and that makes him a possible survivor in a Saw trap.

Couldn't Survive: Ghostface

Ghostface stands in a doorway in Scream.

There have been several different people that have portrayed the character of Ghostface over the different Scream movies, but the one thing they typically tend to have in common is that they're not that smart. While they can hide their identity for a while, the big plans that they have never end up succeeding.

They often make mistakes and panic once they've been unmasked, and because of that, it's more likely that they would just be terrified if they found themselves within a Jigsaw trap. None of them have any special abilities, and a spooky phone call isn't going to get them out of this situation.

Would Survive: Norman Bates

Norman Bates might seem ordinary on the surface, but he is a smart character who could follow along with the instructions that Jigsaw provides for his traps. A lot of characters who end up in that situation simply don't listen to the clues that they're given, but that wouldn't happen for Norman Bates.

He'd take the information and then do whatever it took to survive, as Norman is terrifying and would have no problem in going through the punishment in order to continue his existence.

Couldn't Survive: Leatherface

Leatherface is a powerhouse and not somebody that people want to mess with due to how terrifying he can be. He is the member of the Sawyer family that is just let off chains to attack anybody that's insight, but he is not the brains of the sadistic operation.

Because of that, it is hard to see how he would survive in this situation. There would be no weapon for him to wield here and unless the trap involved him having to fight someone, Leatherface would likely meet his maker within one.

Would Survive: Pennywise

Pennywise is an intriguing character, as he doesn't really have the intelligence to survive like most characters who get out of a trap tend to have. However, he is someone who can adapt to any situation, being able to transform himself into different creatures and appearances.

There's a chance that Pennywise would be able to transform himself into something that isn't a clown, and that could possibly get him out of the trap in time to survive.

Couldn't Survive: Michael Myers

When it comes to the scare factor, few are more intimidating than Michael Myers. But he never showcases massive amounts of intelligence, which is why it would be hard for him to survive one of these traps.

Of course, Michael Myers would likely go for the brute force technique of trying to break whatever trap he was in. However, that typically ends up being the death of someone, which is why he'd be unlikely to escape. Although knowing his track record, Michael would likely somehow find a way of not dying here.

Would Survive: Annie Wilkes

Kathy Bates as Annie in Misery

Annie Wilkes is one of the smartest horror characters of all time, knowing exactly how to play a situation to her advantage. Because of that, she's one that would likely have the intelligence to get herself out of a Saw trap, thinking about the situation and breaking it all down.

She's someone who likes to be in charge of her own destiny, which would make this situation difficult for her. However, Annie is resilient and a natural survivor, which is why it's not hard to believe that she'd be able to survive this situation and then take revenge afterward.

Couldn't Survive: David Kessler

David transforming in An American Werewolf In London

David Kessler is a little different from many horror icons as he doesn't actually want to murder people. However, when he transitions into being a werewolf, that becomes inevitable and it is the unpredictability of when he would change that makes it unlikely he could survive.

When he is in his human form, David might stand a chance, but once he starts his werewolf transitions it would be impossible for him to have the brainpower to get out. On top of that, the thrashing around during the transition would likely trigger whatever the trap was.

Would Survive: Hannibal Lecter

Hannibal the Cannibal Lecter wearing his mask

Hannibal Lecter is a horror icon that is very similar to Jigsaw himself because he is one of the smartest movie characters of all time. He's someone that is happy to think about every situation and make an impact when needed, and given the fact that he has no problem doing whatever it takes to survive and get what he wants, Hannibal would be able to escape a Saw trap.

He would look at the situation logically, no matter what was happening around him. This would then allow him to make a simple decision that would likely lead to him getting out and surviving the ordeal.

Couldn't Survive: Freddy Krueger

Freddy Krueger might be one of the scariest horror villains of all time, and he somebody who can play on the minds of people while they sleep. But when stuck in a Saw trap, Freddy's ability to jump into the nightmares of another person and torture them would be gone.

He's not the smartest of horror characters and that wouldn't help him in this situation either. Plus, this is one occasion where his knife gloves would possibly be a hindrance, as it could stop him from being able to do the tricky and intricate maneuvers that sometimes have to be done within these traps.
