In the Saved By The Bell revival trailer, the stars were back in full force for Peacock's upcoming reboot of the classic series. The original was one of the most iconic teen shows of the '90s, airing on NBC for four years before moving onto a university spin-off in Saved by the Bell: The College Years and the surprisingly long-running Saved by the Bell: The New Class.

Fans of the previous iterations - and of high school stories in general - have been waiting for the new version of the old classic since Peacock, NBCUniversal's streaming service, first announced its development. The building excitement was boosted by the return of some of the show's biggest names, including Mario Lopez and Elizabeth Berkley, but there's also been concern about the exclusion of other cast members. Most notably left out has been Lark Voorhies, who played Lisa Turtle and became a fan favorite.

Viewers will now have a chance to see how the remaining original cast mesh with the series newcomers in the 54-second teaser trailer, which was posted on Peacock's Twitter. In it, A.C. Slater (Lopez) is shown to be Bayside High's gym teacher and someone who can't stop reminiscing about his glory days. Jessie Spano (Berkley) gives him a mild dose of reality by saving, "Can you believe that was like 30 years ago?" but she's not the only one. Watch the trailer below.

The re-introduction to Saved By The Bell is accompanied by sneak peeks at the new generation of students, literally speaking in some cases. The teaser includes the aptly named Mac Morris (Mitchell Hoog), son of Zack and Kelly, and Jamie Spano (Belmont Cameli), son of Jessie. Slater makes things awkward by comparing their dating lives to the times he dated their moms, which is probably a good indicator of the overall tone of the show.

Though Zack Morris (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) and Kelly Kapowski (Tiffani Thiessen) are themselves absent, Gosselaar himself has confirmed that the pair will appear together in a limited capacity due to their commitments to Mixed-ish and Alexa and Katie respectively. In the meantime, not only is their presence felt through the existence of Mac, but it's also embedded in the show's premise. When the Saved By The Bell reboot opens, Zack is the governor and has recently closed down some low-income schools, then sent some affected students to Bayside High as a mea culpa.

There's no way of knowing how well the new show will capture the spirit of the original, or if it will reach the same heights in terms of pop culture influence. But one thing that Saved By The Bell will be chock-full of when Peacock launches in July is references and homages to its predecessor, and that may be enough to start.
