Sandra Bullock's hefty salary for Paramount's The Lost City of D has been revealed in a new report. Box office numbers remain in flux amid the coronavirus pandemic, but the high totals celebrities are paid have stayed the same. This Wednesday revealed the list of 2021's highest paid actors, with Daniel Craig coming out on top for his massive payday on the Knives Out sequels over at Netflix. Unsurprisingly, major stars like Dwayne Johnson and Will Smith also posted big numbers, as did Hollywood leading ladies like Julia Roberts and Bullock.

Next year, Bullock will star alongside Channing Tatum in The Lost City of DDirected by Adam and Aaron Nee, this romcom will follow a romance author (Bullock) and her hunky cover model (Tatum) after a near-kidnapping sends them on a rollicking adventure through the jungle. The Lost City of D also stars Daniel Radcliffe, Patti Harrison, Da'Vine Joy Randolph, and Brad Pitt in a cameo role. It's slated for release in April 2022; Tatum recently confirmed production has wrapped.

Bullock was one of the seventeen names listed in Variety's 2021 salary report. For The Lost City of D, Bullock earned $20 million. That's the industry standard for major studio projects and the same total earned by Pitt for Bullet Train and Chris Hemsworth for Marvel's Thor: Love and Thunder. It isn't clear if Bullock could also receive more in royalties once the movie is released.

Sandra Bullock in Bird Box.

Bullock's $20 million salary for The Lost City of D is a testament to her overall star power. Thanks to roles in movies like The Proposal, Gravity, and The Blind Side, the actress is one of the most recognized names in Hollywood. And yet, recent years have seen her become very selective about the movies she signs on for. Her last films were in 2018: Ocean's Eight and Bird Box. That she can still secure a $20 million total for The Lost City of D is both because of its place as a major studio film and Bullock's own talent.

Similar to Bullock, it's been some time since Tatum put in a live-action performance on the big screen. Save for a hilarious cameo in Free GuyTatum has largely done voice roles in recent years; his last live-action movie was 2017's Kingsman: The Golden Circle. This only makes the pairing of him and Bullock for The Lost City of D more exciting. Paramount would be smart to give this one some major promotion ahead of its release next year. After paying Bullock so much to star, the studio will likely want to see some healthy returns.
