With television becoming even more important to people as their primary — and often the only — source of entertainment during the pandemic, a great TV with high-quality audio and video can go a long way. Movie-goers don't have to miss out on immersive cinematic experiences just because they're skipping theaters to catch their favorite blockbusters at home.
The pandemic is still not entirely in the rear-view mirror, and big-budget movies are releasing on streaming services barely weeks or months after their theatrical release dates. For example, Shang-Chi is releasing on Disney Plus later this month, while star-studded movies like Jungle Cruise, Black Widow and Cruella debuted online the same day they hit theaters. Originally announced at CES 2021, the Neo QLED lineup comes with a new light source called Quantum Mini LED that Samsung says displays images more vividly and accurately. The TVs also leverage the Neo Quantum Processor to deliver 8K AI upscaling. At the same time, Quantum Matrix Technology enhances the LED brightness level from 10-bit to 12-bit, which ensures deeper blacks and brighter whites. Cutting-edge audio technologies include Object Tracking Sound Pro and Q-Symphony. In addition, the latest generation Samsung Neo QLED TVs are accompanied by solar-powered remotes that users can charge via USB and by ambient light, either indoor or outdoor.
Samsung Also Launched An 11.1.4 Channel Dolby Atmos Soundbar
Alongside the Neo QLED TVs, Samsung is also offering the HW-Q950A soundbar that comes with 11.1.4 channel speakers and Dolby Atmos technology. The retail package includes the soundbar itself, as well as a subwoofer, two satellite speakers and a remote control. According to the company, the new soundbar offers a "theater-like three-dimensional experience at home" without installing any additional speakers. The company also claims that the stylish new soundbar will deliver high-quality surround sound akin to premium Dolby Atmos movie theaters that use up to 400 speakers to create a realistic audio experience.
Samsung's first-generation Neo QLED televisions may sound like an enticing proposition, but they do not come cheap. The premium 65, 75, and 85-inch Neo QLED QN900A models have MSRPs of $4,999.99, $6,999.99, and $8,999.99, respectively. However, they are currently available at early Black Friday prices and are cheaper by $1,700, $2,500, and $3,500, respectively. This means they can be currently purchased for $3,299.99, $4,499.99 and $5,499, respectively. Meanwhile, the same three sizes in the relatively less expensive QN800A line are currently discounted by $800, $1,500, and $2,300, respectively.
