Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 4 might be more expensive than its predecessor. The South Korean company recently confirmed that its next Galaxy Unpacked event would take place on Aug. 10. It is expected to unveil multiple devices, including the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4. Alongside the new folding devices, Samsung will also likely unveil the Galaxy Watch 5 and the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro at the upcoming event.

Apart from the devices above, Samsung could also announce the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro at the Unpacked event. The company announced the original Galaxy Buds Pro in Jan. 2021, followed by the Galaxy Buds 2 in August. So it's been almost a year since the launch of the last Galaxy Buds, meaning it is up for an upgrade sooner rather than later. According to rumors, the next-gen Galaxy Buds earphones will come in three colors – Zenith White, Zenith Bora Purple and Zenith Graphite. The event could also see the launch of a new Bora Purple colorway for the Galaxy S22-series.

Recent reports suggest that the Galaxy Z Fold 4 might be more expensive than its predecessor. According to GizPaw, the upcoming device has been listed on the website of an undisclosed European retailer, starting at €1,863 (around $1,903) for the 256GB model, which would be €64 (around $65) more expensive than the €1,799 (around $1,838) launch price for the corresponding Z Fold 3 model. As for the 512GB variant, the Z Fold 4 could have an asking price of €1,981 (around $2,024), which would be €82 (around $83) more expensive than the 512GB Z Fold 3.

Galaxy Z Fold 4 Pricing May Disappoint Buyers

GizPaw further speculates that the two Z Fold 4 models might be priced at €1,849 (around $1,889) and €1,999 (around $2,042) instead of the listed price tags, which would make them €50 (around $51) and €100 (around $102) more expensive than their predecessors. However, do note that there's no confirmation of the price tags from any official sources, nor is there any corroboration from any reliable tipster, so take the information with a pinch of salt for now.

That said, the leaks mentioned above are in line with an earlier report which suggested that the Z Flip 4 might be slightly more expensive than its predecessor. According to the report, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 will start from €1,080 (around $1,099) for the base 128GB model in Europe, while the 256GB and 512GB models will be priced at €1,160 (around $1,181) and €1,280 (around $1,303), respectively. With both reports pointing at similar hikes in the prices of Samsung's next-gen foldables, it will be interesting to see if both the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and the Z Flip 4 will be more expensive than their predecessors this year.
