Samsung has just launched its new Galaxy S22 series of smartphones, but is Galaxy Watch 4 still the best Android smartwatch to pair with the latest devices? To recall, the South Korean company revealed Galaxy Watch 4 and the Galaxy Fold 3 and Flip 3 at the Unpacked 2021 event conducted in Aug. 2021. The wearable succeeds Samsung Galaxy Watch 3, launched in 2020, and is the first smartwatch to come with Google Wear OS 3.
Samsung and Google developed the Wear OS 3 together as a unified platform that improves user experience and unlocks a wide array of use cases, compatible with YouTube Music, Google Pay and Google Maps. Apart from this, the Galaxy Watch 4 can be used as an independent smart device capable of making calls (LTE model), storing and playing music, browsing the internet, and interacting with notifications sent by various applications.
For users who have pre-ordered any of the three smartphones in the Galaxy S22 series, the Galaxy Watch 4 is an ideal smartwatch, and there are three reasons for it. Firstly, the smartwatch is a sweet blend of a fitness-tracking wearable and a device that complements the user's smartphone. In partnership with Centr, the device will provide better body composition insights. Further, the update brings new features that will benefit cyclists and runners and improve sleep tracking. Samsung has also announced that it will be integrating Google Assistant on the Galaxy Watch 4 in the coming months. Yet another factor that places Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 as the best Android smartwatch is its price. On Samsung's official website for the United States, the device is available for $199.99 for the 40mm version and $229.99 for the 44mm one.
To recall, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 comes with a 1.2-inch to 1.4-inch Super AMOLED display. There are two models that the company offers — Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. Under the hood, the smart wearable features a new chipset developed by Samsung called the Exynos W920, which is based on 5 nm fabrication and is accompanied by Mali-G68 GPU. In addition, the device comes with 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which is the highest on a Galaxy smartwatch yet. Overall, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 is still the best Android wearable to pair with the new Samsung Galaxy smartphones launched at the Galaxy Unpacked 2022 event.
