Samsung's Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic are its two best-looking smartwatches yet — and part of that is thanks to the stunning colors that are available. Leading up to the Watch 4, Samsung's smartwatch strategy has been pretty scatterbrained. The first Galaxy Watch debuted in 2018, featuring a sophisticated and classy design. It was then succeeded by the Watch Active and Watch Active 2, both of which featured much sportier designs. Samsung then went back to its professional aesthetic with the Galaxy Watch 3 in 2020. It was all pretty complicated.

Thankfully, the Galaxy Watch 4 series brings much-needed simplicity to the Galaxy Watch brand. The regular Galaxy Watch 4 is now the sportier model, touting a clean and fitness-focused design. The Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, by comparison, features stainless steel, a physical bezel, and numbers etched into the case — all mimicking the appearance of a 'real' wristwatch. Outside of their stark design differences, the experience of using either watch is identical. Both are equipped with a 5nm processor, 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, optional LTE connectivity, and a suite of robust health features.

When buying the Galaxy Watch 4, folks will notice that there are multiple color options to choose from. Starting with the regular Watch 4, it's available in standard black and silver colors regardless if someone chooses the 40mm or 44mm size. However, there are two other colors specific to each case. The 40mm Galaxy Watch 4 also comes in an exclusive pink gold design, where the 44mm option gets a dark green color. The Galaxy Watch 4 Classic is much simpler. Regardless if someone picks the 42 or 46mm case, there are just two available colors: black and silver.

Tips For Picking The Best Galaxy Watch 4 Color

Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic in all available colors

Looking closer at the Galaxy Watch 4 colors, black and silver are clearly the safest options. Black gives the Watch 4 a sleek matte black paint job, whereas silver makes it slightly more eye-catching without going overboard. These colors also come with black and white watch bands, respectively, to tie the whole look together. Some people might argue that black and silver are boring, but neutral colors are often preferred for watches. They both look great with the Watch 4's aluminum case and should complement an outfit nicely whether someone's at the gym or walking about town.

If someone wants a bit more color but doesn't want their watch to stand out like crazy, green for the 44mm Galaxy Watch 4 is well worth considering. The green Samsung chose is quite dark and deep, so much so that it might be mistaken for black at a glance. It also comes with a green watch band that perfectly matches the case color, and it's an undeniably good look. Pink gold is basically Samsung's marketing word for rose gold, because that's exactly what this version of the 40mm Galaxy Watch 4 is. It certainly has the most pop out of any of the Watch 4 colors, and for the right shopper, that could make pink gold a perfect fit.

And, of course, there's the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. The black and silver colors look very similar to the ones offered on the regular Watch 4, save for the fact that they're on a stainless steel case instead of an aluminum one. The Galaxy Watch 4 Classic in black is as stealthy as can be, while the silver color almost has a two-tone design thanks to the black bezel around the display. Overall, all of the colors here are solid. It'd be great to see Samsung bring its more boisterous styles to the Classic model at some point, but regardless, this is a strong launch lineup.
