Samsung unveiled its all-new Galaxy S23 lineup on Feb. 1, but when will the new devices be available for purchase? The Galaxy S23-series is an upgrade over the Galaxy S22 lineup that was launched last year to a largely positive response from consumers. The new lineup includes three devices, viz. the S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra. While the S23 is the most affordable model in the lineup, the S23+ is mostly a bigger version of it, with a larger display and a higher-capacity battery. As for the S23 Ultra, it is the flagship that comes with native S Pen support.

Samsung has announced that all devices in the S23 lineup will release on Feb. 17. That means whether someone wants to buy the S23, S23+, or S23 Ultra, they will be able to do so from later this month. The devices are currently available for pre-order from various online retailers, including Samsung's own official website. All the major carriers, including AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon are also accepting pre-orders for the three devices, and even offering various rebates, discounts, and freebies to sweeten the deal.

The general availability of the S23 lineup from Feb. 17 means that buyers have nearly three weeks to take advantage of the lucrative pre-order deals. That is similar to last year, when the announcement was made on Feb. 9 and the devices were released on Feb. 25. In 2021, the Galaxy S21-series was announced on Jan. 14, while the devices were available for purchase from Jan. 29. It was a similar story in the earlier years as well, with Samsung giving early birds enough time to pre-order the device before they are widely available for purchase.

As a recap of what's on offer, the Galaxy S23 Ultra features a massive 6.8-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. It is powered by a custom version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC called the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy. The device comes with a quad-camera setup at the back, including a massive 200MP primary sensor alongside a 12MP ultra-wide shooter and two 10MP telephoto cameras with 3x and 10x zoom. It has a 5,000mAh battery with 45W wired and 15W wireless charging support.

As for the S23 and S23+, they're also powered by the same chip as the S23 Ultra, but have different screen sizes, batteries, and camera setups. While the base S23 features a 6.1-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display and a 3,900mAh battery, the S23+ comes with a 6.6-inch screen with pretty much the same specifications, but a larger 4,700mAh battery. Both sport the same triple-camera setup, including a 50MP primary sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide shooter and a 10MP telephoto camera. Overall, the Galaxy S23 lineup is only an iterative upgrade over last year's models, but still offer enough grunt to make them among the best Android smartphones for 2023.
