Samsung's Galaxy S22 Ultra has been popping up more and more often lately — with its most recent sighting being a series of hands-on photos that seemingly confirm its design. As is the case with any smartphone launch these days, leaks are an expected part of the equation. Whether it be device renders, hands-on photos, or reported specs, we generally have a good idea of what to expect of a phone well before it actually launches.

A prime example of this has been the Galaxy S22 Ultra. Although the phone's not anticipated to release until February of next year, ample leaks have already revealed a ton of information about it. Following high-quality renders are detailed camera specs, this latest leak shows what the phone looks like in-person.

The leaked photos come by way of Jon Prosser from Front Page Tech. Prosser shared the pictures in a YouTube video uploaded on November 5, and compared to the renders we've seen over the last couple of months, there are a lot of similarities. These images show a large display with curved edges, a centered hole-punch cutout, and an S Pen slot on the bottom frame to hold the accessory when it's not in use — just like the Galaxy Note. That Note inspiration is also seen with the flat bottom/top frames and overall boxy design.

Something else to take note of is the rear camera design. This is something that seems to change in every new leak. The first design renders of the S22 Ultra showed all four sensors combined in a 'P' shape with a connecting piece of glass for all of them. A follow-up render showed these sensors coming in two distinct bumps. According to the S22 Ultra seen in these latest images, all of the cameras will apparently exist on their own without any connecting glass — essentially creating five distinct bumps on the back of the phone. Looks are subjective to everyone, but this is an aesthetic that may take some time to warm up to.

As for the specs of those cameras, Prosser reaffirms what we've heard before. The Galaxy S22 Ultra is said to have a 108MP primary camera, 12MP ultra-wide camera, and two 10MP telephoto cameras (one with 3x optical zoom and another with 10x zoom). Small improvements with better software and improved auto-focus are expected, but the S22 Ultra camera should be very similar to what's found on the S21 Ultra today.

Even with a mostly unchanged camera, the Galaxy S22 Ultra should be an exciting release for Samsung fans. As solid as the S21 Ultra is, its S Pen implementation was a far cry from a proper Galaxy Note replacement. The S22 Ultra looks to bring that iconic Note experience fully into the Galaxy S family — thus merging the two lineups together like it's been rumored for years. Weird camera design or not, that's a lot to look forward to.
