Samsung has announced that its Galaxy S22 series has seen record-breaking pre-orders across the world. The Galaxy S22 series was unveiled during Samsung's Unpacked event on February 9th, with pre-orders opening immediately after. The official arrival date for these devices is February 25th, and customers who pre-ordered the phones were eligible for several enticing offers such as massive trade-in discounts and BOGO deals.

The Galaxy S22 series consists of three phones – the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus, and Galaxy S22 Ultra. Of these, the S22 Ultra is the top-end model in the lineup, bringing previously exclusive Galaxy Note features such as a bundled S-Pen with a dedicated storage slot. The Galaxy S22 Ultra is priced at $1199 for the base 128GB unit. For that price, buyers get the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, an ultra-bright display with Gorilla Glass Victus protection, and the brand's most advanced cameras yet with the new 'Nightography' mode.

As per Samsung, pre-orders for the Galaxy S22 series are more than double of the Galaxy S21 series, with the Galaxy S22 Ultra being the most popular model amassing 60 percent of the sales. It's not surprising that Samsung's most expensive S22 model racked up so many pre-orders. Galaxy Note fans who were disappointed after the series was killed have been waiting for a replacement for over 18 months, and the Galaxy S22 Ultra fills that gap. In Samsung's home market of South Korea alone, the Galaxy S22 phones saw more than a million pre-orders in just seven days.

The Galaxy S22 series don't get all the bragging rights though. Samsung announced that the Galaxy Tab S8 series were also very popular, seeing more than double the pre-orders of the Galaxy Tab S7 series. In fact, Samsung says that the Galaxy Tab S8 series and Galaxy S22 series have seen more pre-orders than any other tablet and smartphone from its stable to date. Among the tablets, the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra drove 50 percent of the sales. The Tab S8 Ultra offers a massive 14.6-inch AMOLED display, inbuilt S-Pen, and a front camera that enables 4K video calls.

While Samsung has been celebrating its early success, several Galaxy S22 and Tab S8 series buyers have reported that their pre-orders have been delayed. Galaxy S22 Ultra units are shipping by end-March or early April for many buyers, while Galaxy Tab S8 dates have been pushed to April for some. It's not all bad news though - a few buyers are reporting that they've received their units ahead of time. Others say their devices are on track to reach by the promised February 25th arrival date.
