Samsung's fan-focused new smartphone, the Galaxy S20 FE, is now available to buy with more storage space. The original phone had ample storage space for the average smartphone user, but for those hoping to store a few more photos and videos on their devices without completely filling up their storage, Samsung is providing an answer.

The original Galaxy S20 FE came standard with 128GB of internal storage, which is typically enough to record and store hours of video on a mobile device, even at 4K resolution. Furthermore, users of a Galaxy S20 FE are already able to expand that capacity through the use of a microSD card. This new version, however, may eliminate the need to add storage cards for some, as it doubles the storage capacity on the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE.

In a press release, Samsung confirmed that a new, 256GB version of the Galaxy S20 FE is now available to buy. The extra storage-packed version comes in a Cloud Navy trim, and can be purchased through Samsung as an unlocked device and via select phone carriers, like Verizon or AT&T. The new variant is priced at $769, which represents a decent price increase compared to the $699 128GB version.

Besides storage capacity, the new version of the Galaxy S20 FE is basically identical to the edition released earlier this year. The phone comes with a triple lens camera featuring two 12-megapixel lenses and one 8-megapixel lens, plus a 32-megapixel front camera. A 120Hz screen allows for improved scrolling compared to 60Hz alternatives, and a 4,50o mAh capacity battery sets the stage for long-lasting usage. In addition, this phone carries an IP68 weather resistance rating, protecting it against dust and allowing it to withstand 1.5 meters of water for up to 30 minutes at a time.

From an affordability standpoint, the Galaxy S20 FE already had a rock-solid set of features that made it an attractive option. At a price that undercuts more high-end models, the Galaxy S20 FE offered performance that would suit the needs of most. That being said, it did have a bit of a shortcoming - at least comparatively - when it came to internal storage. Although that's now changed with buyers now able to choose a variant that can store twice as much on the phone without investing in additional storage. Of course, for those Samsung users who need it, the option to expand the storage via a microSD card remains an option.
