Samsung's Galaxy Buds are among the best wireless earbuds available — but just how well do they hold up when it comes to charging? There are a lot of factors that come into play when buying a new pair of earbuds. Folks need to consider audio quality, smartphone compatibility, battery life, durability, and more. It's a lot to remember during the buying process and can often make the whole thing a bit overwhelming.

Another factor to consider — and one that often goes overlooked — is charging time. Having a pair of earbuds that last forever is great, but if they take just as long to fully charge up, that's far from ideal. Especially if someone finds themself in a situation where they need a quick refuel, slow charge times can quickly become a deal-breaker.

In the case of Samsung's Galaxy Buds lineup, charge times vary depending on each model. Starting with the original Galaxy Buds that launched in 2019, placing them in the charging case for 15 minutes results in up to 1.7 hours of battery life. Stepping up to the Buds Plus, charging for just 10 minutes provides 3 hours of use.

Charging Times For Galaxy Buds Live, Buds Pro, & Buds 2

Moving over to the Samsung Galaxy Buds Live, Samsung says to expect 1 hour of battery life after placing the earbuds in their case for 5 minutes. That's certainly better than the original Galaxy Buds, but it's a considerable step down from the fast charging found on the Buds Plus. With the Galaxy Buds Pro, charging for 10 minutes is enough for 85 minutes of additional playtime — again, worse than the Buds Plus.

And, last but certainly not least, there's the Galaxy Buds 2. Charge time is identical to that of the Buds Live, with the Buds 2 delivering 1 hour of use after 5 minutes of charging. Outside of the first-gen Galaxy Buds, fast charging times for the rest of the lineup are very respectable. Samsung may not be breaking new ground with each new release, but its charge times are consistently snappy and useful in a pinch when extra juice is immediately needed.

Samsung doesn't provide exact numbers for full charge times for any of its earbuds, but users can expect it to take around one hour or so when placing the earbuds in the charging case to go from 0-100 percent. This is roughly the average for most true wireless earbuds, with the biggest differentiator coming down to those initial fast charge times. The Galaxy Buds Plus still take the lead in that regard, but any of Samsung's more recent Galaxy Buds perform just fine.
