Samsung will soon be releasing a BTS edition of the Galaxy S20+ smartphone, as well as a matching set of Galaxy Buds+ true wireless earbuds. While Samsung had already confirmed the release of the special edition Galaxy S20+, renders of the phone have now leaked online to provide a clearer look at the upcoming Android device.

Samsung and BTS are both incredibly popular brands in their respective fields, which makes a partnership like this all the more appealing to fans of both. In fact, this is not the first time the K-pop band has partnered with the South Korean tech company, as the two have been actively working together to promote the Galaxy S20 lineup since it was announced.

Samsung officially confirmed the release of the BTS edition of the phone on May 31, 2020. At the same time, the company also provided teaser posts on social media that not only confirmed the release date as July 9, but provided some indications of what the phone might look like. However, they were only teasers. Now, frequent tipster Evan Blass, has released a number of renders on Twitter that provide a much closer look at the BTS Edition Galaxy S20+.

Looks Different, But Same Galaxy S20+

While this is being marketed as a BTS Edition of the phone, that largely only relates to the design and the packaging. As beyond those points, the BTS version appears to be the same as the standard version of the Galaxy S20. Although for fans of the super-band, the lack of internal changes are unlikely to matter, considering they are getting the best of the Galaxy S20 experience wrapped within a design that's bound to be pleasing to BTS supporters. For example, in addition to the color, the Galaxy S20 also comes with a heart on the rear camera setup, as well as the band's logo on the back, and quite possibly, BTS-themed wallpapers and software design tweaks as well.

From Samsung’s perspective, this could be a good way to instantly add a lot of sales to its books and in a short space of time. Over the past few months, sales for smartphones and other devices have fallen due to the COVID-19 outbreak. However, the number of BTS fans is substantial, and the collective ‘BTS Army’ is capable of making big changes quickly when they decide to. In fact, Blass even sent out a follow up Tweet noting how the BTS image leak had already become the tipster account’s most liked Tweet. This was in a matter of hours and in spite of the account having leaked many high profile phones over the years.

That’s the power of BTS and its fan base, and Samsung will be hoping for a similar outcome when the BTS Galaxy S20 finally goes on sale next month. As mentioned, joining the new-look Galaxy S20 is a pair of matching Galaxy Buds+, resulting in a complete Samsung and BTS phone and headphone package.
