A new leak has revealed a handful of Samsung devices planned for 2022 and the list includes successors to popular products, such as the 2020 Galaxy Buds Live. Samsung has already enjoyed an exciting year filled with several interesting product announcements, including the launch of the company's latest foldables, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 3.

The Galaxy S22 series is expected to be the first major launch from Samsung in 2022, but like other Galaxy Unpacked events, there will be announcements other than just for the new flagship smartphones. The Galaxy Tab S8 series of tablets are likely expected to launch too, showing that Samsung is still committed to the tablet market.

Samsung is increasing its target for shipments next year, reports The Elec, and according to a business plan recently shared with major partners. While not meant for the public to see, the alleged Samsung Electronics IM Division document mentions new products planned for release next year as well as the number of units the South Korean giant plans to manufacture. For example, the plan reveals a 33.6 million unit target for tablets, an increase of 6-percent compared to 2021. The models include the Galaxy Tab A8 and Galaxy Tab A7 Lite which are expected to contribute 11 million units each, making up more than half of the total shipments. The flagship Galaxy Tab S8 series, which includes the Tab S8, Tab S8+, and Tab S8 Ultra will contribute 1.2 million units, 900,000, and 400,000 units respectively. Samsung will also announce a Galaxy Tab S8 Lite in the second half of the year with 1.6 million units. It is interesting to see that budget and mid-range tablets make up the bulk of the tablet shipments for 2022, considering Samsung didn't launch any flagship tablets this year.

New Samsung PCs And Wearables Coming

The business plan also mentions Samsung's aim to ship 7.4 million laptops/PCs. The models planned for release are the Galaxy Book 2 Pro 360, a successor to the premium 2-in-1 convertible the company announced earlier this year, of which 300,000 units will be produced. A clamshell version, that will also be available with the option for 5G, is listed to have 300,000 units made, while the Chrome OS-powered Galaxy Chromebook Go will contribute 1.4 million units under a Joint Design Manufacturing agreement. It is not clear if this is a successor to the 2021 Galaxy Chromebook Go or the same model.

Samsung also intends to ship more wearables next year, with the documents revealing the plan to produce 19 million smartwatches, of which about one-quarter will be made up of the Galaxy Watch 5, the successor to the popular Galaxy Watch 4. The company also plans to produce 23 million wireless earphones, with new models like the Galaxy Buds Pro 2 making up 3.1 million units and the Galaxy Buds Live 2, a successor to the bean-shaped earbuds from 2020, contributing 3.3 million units.

This latest Samsung leak does indicate there will be a lot to look forward to in 2022, but there is always the possibility that the company's plans change, and for any number of reasons including chip availability.
