Cult internet animator David Firth has released a teaser for the next episode in his Salad Fingers series. The series follows the Lynchian misadventures of Salad Fingers, a green, soft-spoken man who lives in a nightmarish dystopian wasteland inhabited by horrifying creatures. The first episode, “Spoons,” was released in 2004 and quickly became a cult hit. The most recent episode, “Glass Brother,” was released in 2019. In 2021, Firth released a Salad Fingers short called “Market,” though it is not considered part of the main series.

Now, Firth has shared a short clip from Salad Fingers' upcoming twelfth installment via Instagram, along with a release date. In the 14-second clip, Salad Fingers sits despondently on a rock, wearing a grubby suit and toupée. He chastises Hubert Cumberdale – his sinister finger puppet friend, who is also wearing a toupée – for arriving uninvited to his “courting session.” Cumberdale responds by inflating his face in an unsettling manner. The currently untitled episode will be released on March 7. The full clip is viewable below.

The new episode will apparently be ignoring the events of “Glass Brother,” in which Cumberdale became an organic creature after Salad Fingers wrapped him in scraps of discarded flesh. Firth, who voices, writes, and animates Salad Fingers, recently appeared as Shrimp in the third episode of Adult Swim’s Smiling Friends. Fans of the series will surely enjoy revisiting the terrible nightmare world of Salad Fingers when the new installment drops.
