Radio personality, television host and producer Ryan Seacrest has been accused of sexual harassment. During the past month, women and men alike in Hollywood have been coming out against sexual abuse and harassment in the entertainment industry, accusing powerful, big name stars and producers like Harvey Wienstien, Kevin Spacey, James Toback, Roy Price and more.

Now, another name has been added to that growing list – former American Idol host Ryan Seacrest. The star, who is also known for the countdown program American Top 40, the KIIS-FM morning radio show On Air with Ryan Seacrest, and currently co-hosting Live with Kelly and Ryan with Kelly Ripa, has been accused of inappropriate behavior by a former E! News wardrobe stylist. Seacrest co-hosted E! News from 2006 to 2012 with Giuliana Rancic, but was eventually replaced with Jason Kennedy due to his busy schedule. He has also starred in a few films as himself, as well as executive producing multiple reality programs via his company Ryan Seacrest Productions, including Keeping Up with the Kardashians and Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution. He is also set to return as host of American Idol when the singing competition returns to TV on ABC next year.

A new report on Yahoo! Entertainment reveals that the TV personality is currently under an open investigation, but Seacrest has denied all allegations that he sexually harassed the aforementioned E! News wardrobe stylist. The details of the allegations have not been made public, but Seacrest has released a statement. See his statement below:

“Recently, someone that worked as a wardrobe stylist for me nearly a decade ago at E! News, came forward with a complaint suggesting I behaved inappropriately toward her. If I made her feel anything but respected, I am truly sorry. I dispute these reckless allegations and I plan to cooperate with any corporate inquiries that may result.”

“I treat all my colleagues with kindness, dignity, and understanding, as this is a principle that’s core to who I am. Throughout my 25 years in the entertainment industry, the majority of my co-workers have been women, and I’ve endeavored to foster a positive work environment of mutual respect and courtesy, as that’s how I believe it should be. I’m distraught that anyone or any situation would call that into question. I’m proud of my workplace reputation, and believe my track record will speak for itself. I’m an advocate for women. I will continue to support their voices.”

Ryan Seacrest with Live co host Kelly Ripa Ryan Seacrest is Latest Accused of Sexual Harassment

Seacrest’s situation is a bit unlike the majority of the recent sexual misconduct allegations in Hollywood, as he seemingly chose to head off the story eventually becoming public by making it public himself now. Considering the amount of career damage suffered by other accused Hollywood figures such as Harvey Weinstein and Kevin Spacey, one wonders if these allegations will cause similar damage to Seacrest. Of course, with the details not publicly revealed, it’s impossible to know if what Seacrest is accused of would merit such a punishment, should E!’s investigation not go his way.

Seacrest is of course just the latest prominent name to be accused of sexual harassment, assault, or misconduct in the last several weeks. Also recently added to that list were Sylvester Stallone, Jeffrey Tambor, U.S. Senator – and former actor and comedian – Al Franken, prolific director and producer Brett Ratner, and Tom Sizemore. At the rate things are going, Seacrest may be the latest to be accused, but he probably won’t be the last.
