Ryan Reynolds and Will Ferrell sing a hilarious duet on the set of their new Christmas movie musical. The upcoming Spirited, written and directed by Sean Anders and John Morris, reimagines Charles Dickens' 1843 classic A Christmas Carol as a modern musical. Though the film has no release date as of yet, it is set to premiere on Apple TV+.

Spirited was first announced in 2019 as the next project from the creative team behind Daddy's Home, with Apple winning the bidding war for distribution rights that followed. Reynolds will play the protagonist, Ebenezer Scrooge, while Ferrell is cast as the film's version of the Ghost of Christmas Present. Sunita Mani (GLOW) is penciled in as the Ghost of Christmas Past, while Oscar-winner Octavia Spencer's role has yet to be officially announced.

Reynolds, as he is wont to do, is getting in early on the marketing for Spirited by sharing a funny video on social media from the film's set. Principal photography reportedly began in July, and in a free moment, Reynolds tries out a TikTok trend in which a single person recreates the layered harmony of MIKA's "Grace Kelly" by singing each part one-by-one. Only, by the fourth layer, Ferrell has decided he wants to join in. Check out the video below:

Reynolds gets through the lower parts without any problem, but Ferrell jumps in to take the high parts, and Reynolds' expression is initially one of exasperation and confusion. He gives a quick The Office-esque glance at the camera and looks back at his Spirited co-star, who seems to be having a blast with his high notes. Reynolds eventually comes to terms with his intrusion and joins him for the final layer, and both end the video looking into the camera with a twinkle in their eye.

Reynolds and Ferrell seem to have fun filming the video, giving viewers an early sense of what their chemistry could look like in Spirited. Additionally, the clip also provides a peek at their costumes, which look very different from the first image Reynolds shared from set back in July that featured more contemporary clothing. It's unclear exactly what this means for the look of the film, and fans will probably have to wait awhile to find out, since Spirited is unlikely to release until at least 2022.
